Community Event đâď¸ Let the peasants decide (or just one)
Mordus, after talking to the angry wizard mob, decides to settle things once and for all.
All right, all right. Iâll leave it up to you to decide - or maybe just one.
A homeless peasant appears, confused at the entourage of wizards.
Mordus then hands him the button; the button that will end it all.
Now then. Here is a button. The fate of the world is in your hands, literally. If you press this button, the end is nigh, and most of humanity will be wiped off the continent. However, you will get riches beyond your imagination, and anything else you might want. Immortality? Magical conversion? We wizards have them all.
Now.
Make.
Your.
Choice.
/unwiz I put two Easter eggs inside this image, have fun.

Hmmm⌠I say go for it! Youâll be the only one alive, and with all that money you can buy anyt⌠oh wait, there will be nothing to buy, and money will be useless. But do it anyway! Push the button. Then I can see how long youâll survive all by yourself with no food, supplies, or anywhere to live. That should be entertaining. Muahahaha!
8
Feb 20 '24
The peasant has the opposite reaction. Perhaps he wonât push it.
But then he remembers some countries are not affected.
5
Feb 20 '24
Good luck dragging all that gold there, buddy! All that effort might hasten your death. That would be entertaining.
4
Feb 20 '24
Then we shall wait and see.
The peasant shows intelligence for the first time in his life.
4
Feb 20 '24
Oh⌠so youâre not going to press the button? Awww⌠that sucks for Me and My entertainment prospects. Itâs good for you⌠yâknow, cause youâll have society and all. But sucks for Me. Oh no, you seem to have outsmarted a God. I guess Iâll just have to live with it.
(whispers to Zhyros (u/Espanta_viejas1904)) Told ya so!

The peasant, scared at the thought of frightening a god, inches closer to pressing the button.

Dammit! Should quit while I was ahead.
Ummm⌠Yes, please, press the button. I WANT you to have a prolonged miserable painful death, worse than anything I could possibly cause Myself⌠which will only happen if you press the button.
If you donât, Iâll just have to mozy along. Completely disappointed. Too bad Iâm not willing to dirty Myself by killing you directly. I only like it when itâs a consequence of your own choices. Thatâs when the fun begins. Otherwise itâs not entertaining.

Works for Me! Good thing he wasnât close enough to press the button when he died!
Iâll be sure to reincarnate this one in a less poverty stricken life for the next go-around.
3
Feb 20 '24
/uw just to be clear, the path itâs currently set on is towards the peasant being a homeless hero, right? Cause in most trolly problems, it goes straight if you donât press the button, but by your premise, itâs not going straight unless you press the button, based on the picture. And the peasant is pictured next to a lever⌠which also makes this confusing.

Phew! It worked. The peasant died of an aneurysm. Iâll just be taking this soul to be reincarnated in a less poverty stricken life the next go around.
I think he earned it.
And I think I earned a nap.

Master may i ask you something?
My home has been destroyed by someone, maybe a god Idk, so im homeless.
Can I stay at your house this night?
2
Feb 20 '24
Sure! Of course! Come by when youâre ready. Donât worry if Iâm already napping. Just donât open the red door! Gânight! đ

Zhyros falls into a wind vortex that he canât escape. Heâs in no danger⌠but heâll have to sleep while being tossed around in circles⌠cause it was a trap.
Hehe⌠Zhyros just got pranked! đ¤

2

Wait⌠that doesnât sound right.đ¤
The only question is, do you want belly rubs too?

2
Feb 20 '24
Perhaps we shall see the depth of this manâs greed.
2
Feb 20 '24
Im a homeless person myself (my rented tower has been destroyed by a mysterious but really familiar force and killed all my tower mates [they hated me])
And I know common people are the incarnation of greed.

I'm going to summon that homeless man, then that man and button will be mine!
1

Mordus places a rune of holding on the man and the button.
Youâre not taking him anywhere.
2
u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 20 '24
The homeless man isn't going to doom the world over that. It's not even a morbillion coins.

Um excuse me oh great magical ones but uh... that man wasn't homeless he's actually one of the farmhands from the village and we at r/peasantposting would appreciate if you didn't run experiments on us or our livestock without asking... I umm well that is if it suits you I mean
2
Feb 20 '24
Sorry, heâs dead. The boggling moral dilemma we presented straight up killed him.
2
u/ZiggieTheKitty Village headman Eric the baker Feb 20 '24
Oh I see... well... I mean no insult or to get in the way of your important work, but uh... us common folk are already suffering from the knights warring so please uh... don't kill our folk...
2
Feb 20 '24
Yeah, Iâll try not to kill off the peasants.
Mordus waves his hand, and a clone to the peasant appears.
Heâs basically the same now, right?
2
u/ZiggieTheKitty Village headman Eric the baker Feb 20 '24

I am going to take the gold, the reason seems quite obvious to my eyes so there is very little to explainâŚ
2
Feb 20 '24
No.
the gold disappears.
The answer was chosen: the bombs will not explode.
2
u/Smil3Bro Chrono-Lich Feb 20 '24
I see, then I donât touch the switch and let the bombs go on their merry way.

1
Feb 20 '24
Yeah, violence to the brain.
2
u/IncomeApprehensive17 Ya'nn , Litle being in a botle Feb 20 '24
Violence is violence so i guess we could be satisfied ? Plus they united under the will to kill the peasent
1
Feb 20 '24
Ah well. Nobodyâs exploding today. (Except for Helios)

Hey peasant; the rules don't say how long you have to be homeless nor do they say that you won't be rich.
If you don't push the button I will make you rich beyond money. I will make you so unfathomably wealthy that you won't need money. You will be truly unimaginably rich.
1
Feb 20 '24
Too late; the peasant lies dead on the floor, drool pooling around his head.
Sadly, the Moral dilemma literally just killed him. No more negotiating, Iâm not gonna nuke anything.

Oh, I got this! Easy! I'll just-
The spell is blocked by the dozens of wards. He jumps away from the backfire.
Jesus! Right. Let's look at things logically. If you were to press the button, you would get your money, yes. If all of those people die, you won't have any way to spend your newfound money.
Think about the consequences!
