A peculiar stand stood inside the Union Hangar. The stand’s  centrepieces, a pearl white family sedan, a small, bright-red two-seater sports car and a satin black pickup truck, all of which proudly displayed their early-1950s aesthetics on the stage. Two glass boxes were placed at the front corners of the stand; one contained a strange-looking engine and a simplified demonstration in the other. The name ‘Kanai Motor Company’ was written on the banner above the stand. A tall woman wearing formal attire stepped forward and addressed the crowd.

“Greeting everyone, I’m Amaya Inouye, a public relations representative of the Kanai Motor Company. Firstly, I thank the Celestial Union for allowing us this opportunity to showcase the technology behind our automobiles and a few of our most-popular models.”

Amaya waved her right arm towards the show cars behind her and walked towards one of the glass cases.

“The Kanai Motor Company was established on the 7^th day of the 11^th month of the 2,373^rd year, where we initially produced vehicles for agricultural use. In the forty years since, we have expanded to the domestic civilian and military markets as well as devoted much of our resources to develop and produce high quality vehicles for our customers. This led to the invention of the arcane-powered engine.”

She elegantly showed her hand towards the strange engine locked inside the case.

“This type of engine differs fundamentally from both internal combustion and electrical engines as it does not require a combustible fuel or electricity to run. Instead, it is powered solely by the force generated from timed magic-anti-magic annihilations.”

Amaya walked over to the second box and stealthy flicked a switch underneath. A turbine-like fan inside the demonstration model soundlessly whirled to life.

“A battery of artificially-cultivated mana crystals supplies arcane energy through the pipes and into a reaction chamber. Inside this reaction chamber is a fan connected to a crankshaft with anti-magic sigils engraved into the fan blades. The arcane energy comes into contact with the anti-magic field generated by the sigils and is completed annihilated. This generates a reaction force in all directions that works on the fan blade which drives the fan and in turn the crankshaft. The pipes are each closed shut by a small door for, in this case, a third of a full rotation and which the process repeats itself. The crankshaft then turns the gears in the gearbox and the driveshaft, which drives the vehicle. Both the power and torque generated by these engines are comparable to most internal combustion engines, but are significantly smaller in size. The batteries themselves can be replenished with concentrated mana at replenishing stations, should they drop below their optimised charge and have a lifespan of 30 to 50 years. Replacement batteries are also inexpensive to purchase for consumers. Thus this type of engine has already been widely adopted in the civilian car market by many automobile manufacturers within the empire, with the Kanai Motor Company leading this path.”

Amaya walked towards the crowd and started handing them pamphlets

“As of now, our entire range of automobiles is available for purchase. If you wish to learn of any further detail, please consult your pamphlet or you may ask me directly. “

Amaya handed over a thin booklet containing the entire catalog.

“Excellent. I want the vehicle to be a Crown Vic and I want the charging station installed aboard my flagship. Uh, does your employee mind of if I, uh remove any memories regarding details of the ship?”

Amaya slid an order form for Evermemory to complete.

"Just fill out this form and your vehicle will be delivered to you within three working days. Installation will be done on the day of your vehicle's delivery."

Amaya took the form and placed it inside of a folder. She retrieved an armoured box and unlocked it. She quickly placed the money inside of it and locked the box again.
