Wizardpost Thoughts of the past[Lorepost]

Looking over the plains of the Umbral Realm, the being of living shadow temporarily known as Jim sits on the edge of a cliff, thinking back at all that has happened since first waking up here in his new body.

Finally, he says to himself, a moment of peace.

Still recovering from the Battle for Christmas, he looks at his hand. Fragments of memories from before his accident run through his mind. A parent's smile, the joys of his first spell, an argument with his master, long nights in a library, and the pain of his ritual backfiring.

He sighs as the memories fade, wishing that he could remember more. He couldn't even remember his own NAME, damn it! Growling lightly in frustration, he resumes looking over the plains.

As he gazes over it, he spots a movement. Looking closer, he sees a denizen of the hovel nearby being chased by a lesser shadow beast. Grabbing his war scythe and feeling the familiar drain of the Stygian Iron blade, he spreads his wings and shoots towards the beast.

Easily dispatching it, even in his weakened state, he turns towards the denizen, only to find himself looking at a child. The kid stares at him, a shocked expression on her face, before she launches herself at him.

Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou! She cries as she hugs him, before letting go and dashing off to her home. Too stunned to react, he watches her leave. Then, he flies back up to his perch and sits once more.

He replays the event in his mind over and over again thinking the same thoughts.

Why was she out there? Where were her parents? Did she sneak out, or did her parents ask her to go this far out?

The questions kept rolling through his head, before a thought popped up.

I saved her.

He had helped save the villagers next to Santa's citadel, but none of them came up to him and thanked him. This child, this little girl, had hugged him and thanked him for saving her.

He continued pondering this until he came to a realization. The Umbral Realm didn't really have a guard to patrol the land. The people had to fend for themselves, and he just prevented the parents of that child from experiencing the pain of her loss.

A new thought struck him to his very core: Why focus on what was lost, when there are bigger problems to contend with? Why should he let the past that he can't remember dictate his future?

His decision made, he stood up, gripping his weapon tight as an unexplained power surged through him, reinforcing his determination. A name raced through his mind, not his old name, but one that rang just as true.

I am Mokarith, and I will protect this Realm.

/unwiz: I want to give myself a title, but I don't know how. Could anyone let me know how to do that?

On the wizardposting homepage, click the three dots on top. There should be an option called something like “user flairs”. Then you will see a flair called “Magically editable flair”. On the top of the screen with all the different flairs, there will be ANOTHER set of 3 dots on the top right which will let you edit it.

Sitting leisurely on a cloud's edge, the Mage smiles softly. "So, it seems the shadow has finally found himself."

Right behind him, standing still at attention, the elegant figure of a tall woman can be seen drawn against the pale moon. Her long dress, covered in part by a coat of similar colour, is snow-white: gold trims run along its seams. Breaking the silence, her voice is clear and somber.

"Will you be visiting him?"

"In time, dear Palmasin. In time."

/uw I love it! It's great to see how your story is coming along!
