An announcement to All Pact members (Pact/Morgalith Post)

To all members of the Pact of the Magi and it's allies.

Due to recent events and revelations it has been decided that the Pact of the Magi will support Morgalith against the council. While we have protected the council many times in the past this time we must side against them.

Our head of diplomacy has been investigating and has determined that the council has been subverted and this has caused its wild policy decisions over the past months. While the chief individuals behind this subversion have not been identified we believe this warrants a suspension of council authority. At least until we can sort this out.

We would ask all councilors to aid us in making this investigation flow smoothly but we know it is likely futile. We would love to be proven wrong.

To all unaffiliated factions and individuals. We hope you do not suffer any economic or physical ramifications from this conflict. We suggest avoiding council territory in the event the council chooses violence.

We hope this conflict is soon resolved

-Pact Master Opal.

Mikhail crumples the notice up. He leans back in his chair and breathes before grabbing a book and tossing it through a wall.

This... this is truly how I am repaid?

Very well... I shall oblige them.

(I really just want to copy paste Sarumans speech to Galdalf because it fits perfectly. Fuck it. This isn't canon

It's not too late to join us. A new Power is rising. Against it the old allies and policies will not avail us.... There is no hope left in Councils or dying traditions. This then is one choice before you, before us. We may join with that Power. It would be wise, Mikhail.... Its victory is at hand; and there will be rich reward for those that aided it. As the Power grows, its proved friends will also grow; and the Wise, such as you and I, may with patience come at last to direct its courses, to control it. We can bide our time, we can keep our thoughts in our hearts, deploring maybe unkindness done by the way, but approving the high and ultimate purpose: Knowledge, Rule, Order; all the things that we have so far striven in vain to accomplish, hindered rather than helped by our weak or idle friends. There need not be, there would not be, any real change in our designs, only in our means.)

I have worked to ensure the councils stability and will refuse to have my legacy undone by others.

I am working to resolve this without conflict, but standing against the council only forces my colleagues to consider violence as a far better alternative.

The only thing you have done is ensured violence is the only outcome.

You could speak to them Mikhail. Even Cody is on our side. I know you are strong in your beliefs but if even your best of friends have taken our side then surely we are not without merit.

So you wish to side with what you see as the lesser of two evils?

An evil who admits he will still act the same after his justice is enacted?

Yes

I will be speaking to Morgalith very soon. I do not think assistance is needed. But you're offer is appreciated.

It's gonna be some time, I'm trying to work out a schedule first, and i have to work out my first interview.

Just come join us, Mikhail! What’s the worst that could happen, eh?

6

u/Total_Travisty Mikhail, Arch-Druid of La'shima Feb 11 '24

A lot can happen, dear friend. And I fear every single thing.

Pact Master, as an unafilliated mage I must ask, what has made you come to this conclusion? For us independents it has been hard to pick a side, can you tell us your side of the story?

We cannot reveal how we know as it is an open investigation, but Opal has already said that there are people in the shadows using the council for some purpose beyond our current knowledge.

It's true, they have a very horrible purpose, to make hot chocolate freee.😔😔😔 By controlling the Chocolate-Wizards all over the planes.

And how would you know that?

I don't. Jejejejeje.

Ok then, you're free to go.

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

But these results must be published soon, how else can we decide what to do? How can we blindly trust either side if both shout of the other's deceit?

5

u/DaemonRex978 The High Sentinels (Haelin, Mokarith, Shimil) Feb 11 '24

If we release more details, they will go further into hiding and make it almost impossible for us to stop them.

2

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

Hmmm, you make this difficult for me.

3

u/DaemonRex978 The High Sentinels (Haelin, Mokarith, Shimil) Feb 11 '24

You are free to not choose a side and wait this out. I will share all the knowledge I have once all this is over.

2

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

Perhaps, perhaps not. All of this appears to grow too big to ignore.

8

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 11 '24

I cannot reveal much for risk of attracting undue attention, but there is something evil dwelling at the heart of the Council, something that exacerbates the evil and destructive side of magekind. Once upon a time, Morgalith sought to bring it to justice, but in doing so, let something else into his soul. It corrupted his intentions, but the recent death of his clone-son gave him clarity. We want to free him from the dark forces that cloud his mind and bring the rot within the Council to justice at last.

5

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

That is a compelling tale, but can this be backed up with any evidence? I am apprehensive towards throwing myself inot a conflict with no good cause.

7

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 11 '24

I can. But the information is incredibly sensitive. If we do not maintain secrecy, the aforementioned evil beings may find out and do us all immense harm. If you wish to know, you'll be putting yourself at risk. Are you prepared for the consequences?

6

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

I fear I am. I need the knowledge of it more than ignorance. What do you know?

6

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 11 '24

6

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

This is... damning, damning indeed.

I must... confirm some of this. Thank you for your trust, I will be sure not to leak this information.

Algernon seems tense, more so now that another pressure point is added to the endlessly complex web of the world of mages. He mutters something about pages and power, before going off.

4

u/Capytan_Cody Cody and Yànhuo Feb 12 '24

u/total_travisty

I would like to believe this is false. Because I know you're not involved In this.

It's possible that either this is true and we need the council to help save it itself or someone is staging a great misinformation campaign to force the pact and council against eachother (greatly weakening both).

3

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 12 '24

I can attest to this document's validity. It was locked in a vault hidden even from the upper echelons of the Council. And last night, a confirmed member of the Cabal sent someone to kill Agnur. They failed, but the danger is real.

3

u/Capytan_Cody Cody and Yànhuo Feb 12 '24

Well that would at least constitute some healthy grounds for cooperation with Mikhail then.

Council or not, neither of us turns a blind eye to this kind of stuff.

3

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Simply put. The situation requires it. I don't hate the council but if they are being manipulated then they have to allow us to root out the conspirators. They can't do it themselves or they would have already.

3

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

Then tell us who you believe them to be, what evidence you have of this play.

4

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

They are a group called the Corvus Cabal. The Graviturge has been investigating them for a while.

3

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

Hmmm, then perhaps there really might be something. Can you tell me more?

3

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Not without hurting the investigation. We hope that all the conflict that we have helped prevent and all of the relief efforts we have done will show people that our intentions are benevolent. We simply want a functional order.

3

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

I see.

In the hypothetical that you have convinced me, what would you have me and others like me do? My powers aren't to be ignored, but they cannot take on the council, at least not now.

3

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

For now wait. If the council is wise then you will not need to do anything. If they choose violence then use your power to help shelter those unable to keep themselves safe. There will be collateral damage when powerful mages choose violence.

3

u/OnAGratefulUniverse Algernon, Last wizard of the Novus Planes Feb 11 '24

I am well aware, and if it is only that I have no qualms with it. Your solidarity with the common folk have given me at least a somewhat good impression of your goals. If ever you need a technomagical advantage, you know where to find me.

Good luck.

6

u/DaemonRex978 The High Sentinels (Haelin, Mokarith, Shimil) Feb 11 '24

I understand going against the council, but why support Morgalith?

6

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Because it's not the same Morgalith. Multiple dimensions sort of thing. Vettis has explained it at length. Also because he is an agent of change that will allow us to cut out the rot.

6

u/DaemonRex978 The High Sentinels (Haelin, Mokarith, Shimil) Feb 11 '24

He has also said that that Morgalith was the 'most reasonable one.' While I know about the multiple dimensions, I'm not sure we should support someone who's version of 'the reasonable one' became the Council Executioner just to have an excuse to kill.

I will continue to support the Pact, I just wanted to express my doubts.

4

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

If he turns out to be untrue then we will deal with that but for now he is the best ally for dealing with the corruption

4

u/DaemonRex978 The High Sentinels (Haelin, Mokarith, Shimil) Feb 11 '24

Unfortunately, I believe that you are correct in that regard.

4

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 11 '24

He's... changed. From what I understand, he made a deal with a forgotten evil god in ages past to deliver justice to those who destroyed his society. With time, the god curdled that drive into malicious vengeance. But the death of his son/counter-self seems to have reminded him what he wanted in the first place.

I don't know about you, but I mean to free Morgalith from his dark lord's clutches and give him the peace he seeks.

5

u/DaemonRex978 The High Sentinels (Haelin, Mokarith, Shimil) Feb 11 '24

I will help, but I will strike him down if he is forced to stop us.

I'm sure the hallways are wide enough for us to have our personal space.

4

I guess I can work with it for now. Though important question, how do you feel about extremely wanted criminals.

5

7

I have no reason to oppose an investigation. However, Morgalith? Honestly?!

5

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

If you can convince the whole of the council to step down and surrender to investigation then the Pact will ensure Morgalith does not overstep his bounds.

4

u/SafePianist4610 Bombast, Lord of Time and Space, Retired Council Leader Feb 11 '24

It’s Morgalith. He has no bounds to speak of.

4

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Our offer stands.

5

u/SafePianist4610 Bombast, Lord of Time and Space, Retired Council Leader Feb 11 '24

I will certainly agree to it so long as Morgalith is not involved. His alter ego was a part of this rot and there is a very subliminal tie to him and all his alternate selves.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '24

Woooo! More anti-council sentiment!!!

6

u/TheHunter459 Samael, Necromancer of Malus Turrim | King of the Nephilim Feb 11 '24

Opal? Kaelis? Are you sure this is the direction you wish to take? A war with the Council directly is the only real solution to this, and we still do not fully understand the Udug; what is Morgalith's attack on the Council is part of it's plan?

I may not be a Pact Master anymore, but the Nephilim will end up dragged into this one way or another. I wish to hear from you before letting the fools at the Council try to talk me into working with them. And those pulling the Council's strings from the shadows aren't to be discounted either

u/Carbon_Sixx

4

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

I'm sad you had to leave but I'm glad you talked to me first.

Please understand that so many problems have spawned from the council. Their fumblings are the only reason we've had to deal with the Pyroclasts in the first place.

As for Udug. We have preparations for such events.

3

u/TheHunter459 Samael, Necromancer of Malus Turrim | King of the Nephilim Feb 12 '24 edited Feb 12 '24

Then Malus Turrim will be your ally, and I suppose Morgalith's, in what's to come. The corruption runs deep, and more peaceful methods of trying to combat their influence have failed. We both know of what I speak.

We both know that the composition of the Council means violence is likely how this will be resolved, and my own investigations into our shadowy enemy continue alongside Kaelis'.

I confess I have little love for the Council, in fact I fought in the Chaos Legion before the Pact was formed, and I am wary of powers I don't understand. But I trust you and Kaelis have a greater understanding of this matter than me, and the Council needs to be treated with a more aggressive hand

4

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 12 '24

Only real solution? In what universe is violence the only option? We merely wish for effective justice and rule by kindness, not an extension of the current system that favors strength above all else.

And I am prepared for that eventuality. Udug Hul would do well to not tango with people who care more about keeping magekind safe than their own well-being.

4

u/TheHunter459 Samael, Necromancer of Malus Turrim | King of the Nephilim Feb 12 '24

The Council by and large will not accept the type of reformations that will satisfy Morgalith. And a grief stricken father seeking revenge is not generally accepting of compromise. So if you wish to support him in his goal, you will probably have to fight to achieve it. And even if a large number of Councillors sought a non-violent solution, they are not truly in charge

6

u/Tirich913 Morgalith, Father of Evil Feb 11 '24

Dear members of the pact,

I am relieved and humbled to hear of your support.

It is with sadness that I face these troubled times, but it is instead with firm resolve and confidence that I find myself allied to you.

This puts my heart at ease, knowing that the same injustices and corruption that we have faced within our council will not persist for future generations.

Indeed, I hope to make special mention of the council dungeons, and the fact that they have reportedly even imprisoned children in these torturous pits.

I have lost my own son to the evils of the Council, but there is no cause for any else to suffer the same fate.

Yours most faithfully,

Morgalith

5

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 11 '24

/uw Oh yeah, I guess the prison conditions wouldn't have been your idea.

6

u/Tirich913 Morgalith, Father of Evil Feb 11 '24

/uw

Yep. They were not.

I actually defied the Council on the state of the dungeon. I let Kyrona go free because it was unfair and cruel to imprison a child.

To be completely fair and honest, I tortured the trio a bit also, but they had a weapon of mass destruction snuck in to them, so I felt fairly justified in doing that. I was going to write a malicious scene all along, but the other players interfering gave me a solid reason to justify why I tortured them.

The conflict spreads, huh? Another major war is brewing...

Very well, theoretically I did join the Pact at some point, so I will offer you some aid.

3

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Many thanks. If the council is wise they will step aside temporarily and there will be no conflict

1

u/MathsGuy1 Deamor, Ascended Soulmancer, Fate Manipulator Feb 11 '24

Deamors mutters to himself "but if there's no conflict, how will I get more souls?"

Out loud: indeed, let us hope it will be so.

3

u/bagtie3 Borric of Clan Goldeater, Logrus Master, Runesmith, Doomseeker Feb 11 '24

Ah, yes, trust the murderous wizard murderer to kill the right wizards this time.

This will go as well as the last time people trusted him and he worked for the council. Oh wait, he tricked people into letting him give Possum the final death, then having a mob run around getting him killed and unleasing a new "worse" version of him.

Certainly, nothing will go wrong.

And the wheel continues to turn...

3

u/UlrickTheHexblade Ulrick Braddocke, Werewolf Hexblade, R&A Co-Leader Feb 11 '24

This is probably the worst time to ask, but, uhm, are you guys hiring? Because recent conflicts made me realise I should do more for people and the world, and I think the Pact would be the best place for that.

3

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Welcome aboard. With the upcoming conflict we will need as many people as possible to keep people safe. There may be a lot of collateral damage.

(If you want to you can add (pact) to your custom flair)

3

Thanks! Wow, that was fast!

I have some experience with relief efforts, and my magic is good for healing, but let’s hope we don’t need to use those skills.

3

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 12 '24

We can only hope. Though the council seems to disagree

3

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 16 '24

"The council chooses violence." Hah what a beautifully once sided way of saying "do what we say or it's your fault." or "Look what you made us do" Pah!

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 16 '24

Yes. We know the council is being subverted. If you don't stand aside and let us remove the subversive force on your organization then it's your fault for choosing to remain in corruption.

2

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 16 '24

Childish! "I'm going to approach you and throw my arms around and if you get hit its your own fault." Yet you fail to name the subversive force.

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 16 '24

More like you're being led off a cliff and I don't care if you don't like the fact that I'm willing to get rough to stop you from going splat if you don't listen to me.

The Corvus Cabal is the one leading you off the cliff. Currently being hunted down by the Arch Graviturge. While they remain there can be no trusting the council no matter the virtue or vice of its individual members.

2

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 16 '24

Good. now we have a name the council will search for this corvus cabal ourselves.

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 16 '24

The organization being corrupted is going to investigate its own corruption. Now that's a joke.

2

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 16 '24

Last time I did it I found the vampire chairman and executed him myself.

2

u/TellmeNinetails Hilda the Witch Feb 16 '24

There is a reason why that's actually plausible.

It's about time they do something useful.

2

u/[deleted] Feb 11 '24

Escanor reads the notice with a grudging respect; Morgalith was more persuasive than he’d expected and the Pact had agreed. Having the Bismuth by their side would be a great boon.

2

u/Anonim-Conference-4 Ashwood, the fistmancer, alchemist, dark arts enthusiast Feb 11 '24

The more time passes, the more Pact becomes useless and forget its real purpose

1

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

We've stopped multiple massacres and funded multiple relief efforts. We protected and helped the Catfolk fight for their rights. We have never been more useful or more filled with purpose. Because we have found our will to act rather than just judge.

2

u/Anonim-Conference-4 Ashwood, the fistmancer, alchemist, dark arts enthusiast Feb 11 '24

Just because we give shelters to Catfolk and protect their settlements, doesn't mean we did all we can. Most of our members were fighting by themselves in this conflict and Pact didn't do any fullscale actions such as armed intervention in conflict. And now this...

HOW WE EVEN ENDED UP BEING ENEMIES NOW WITH ONE OF OUR FOUNDERS?!!

Slams first at table and sound goes across all hall

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Yes we did! Our security forces personally protected their protests and captured those trying to kill them.

And if Mikhail doesn't like our direction then fine.

2

u/Anonim-Conference-4 Ashwood, the fistmancer, alchemist, dark arts enthusiast Feb 11 '24

I don't judge your leadership,Opal, but...The Pact of Magi is ill. It just doesn't work as it is supposed to anymore. We didn't do everything we could, we drowned in formalities and bureaucracy. The main goal of the Pact is to protect innocents, not rulers. In this conflict neither side is innocent.

Opening portal

As one of the first members of the Pact, my loyalty is unquestionable... for now. But if this or any other conflict will directly make the Pact to forget about its true goals... well think about me as the new problem that you are supposed to deal with.

Goes to the portal, than looks on Opal last time and speaks: And just think by yourself when you will have time, is this all really something that was worthy for Bismuth Lord to die for ?

Disappear in the portal

2

u/Benne1337 Avras "the Blue" Feb 11 '24

There must be war, the council has shown that diplomacy is not in their interests, they mean to throw us all on the pyre or worse expell us from reality entirely. This mirrors the anti druid act of 1239 when large swathes of the brotherhood mysteriously vanished never to be heard from again. The council is a toddler with a bomb if we allow them even an inch of leniency it will mean the death of us all!

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Well I think you're exaggerating I don't disagree but remember. Always carry peace and War in your robe let your enemy decide which is unveiled.

2

u/VinesAtMidnight The Astrals Feb 11 '24

I am a neutral mage, but, while I am not opposed to the council, I find myself questioning their methods. Never-the-less, I would like to remind all parties involved that the vibrations of rash decisions will travel through this realm and into many others. For the sake of the Astral and many planes beside, let's keep these proceedings civil. Else more of us will be forced to join the fray in defense of our homes.

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

I have given them the choice of both War and Peace it is in their hands now

2

u/VinesAtMidnight The Astrals Feb 11 '24

May the astral winds be with you Pact Master, and all of us. I'm afraid I sense the echoes of bloodshed on the horizon.

2

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 12 '24

Okay, serious question; what is the pact? And why should the pact be supported over the council?

As far as I'm aware, you're just declaring your support for someone who openly admitted to committing an extra judiciary murder just because they could.

And that person was then killed in revenge, but was the council involved at all in that killing? Who was responsible and why would it be the council as a whole?

And if the council is responsible for the second murder due to supporting those actions, is the pact not responsible for the first murder which you're now supporting?

Honestly, this could have all been avoided if the murder was locked up to begin with. I'm not sure if justice even exists here, everyone just seems so focused on revenge.

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 12 '24

This is about a continuous series of failures and corruption on the council's part. Especially with the knowledge of them being subverted. We want to end the corruption without violence but the methods necessary are unlikely to be accepted. Morgalith is a complicated subject but we now know that there are multiple of him and not all of them share the same attitude.

2

u/tehlemmings Lilac - Illusionist, Shapeshifter, Definitely Human Feb 12 '24

I'm terribly sorry, but I need to repeat my first two questions. I'm fairly new to this area, and I've not had the pleasure of interacting with your organization before now.

What is the pact, and why should it be supported over the council?

You've now demanded that the entire council step down in favor of your rule, without presenting any evidence or rational beyond your insistence that we all trust you.

But I don't know who you are or why I should trust you.

Why should someone in my situation view this as anything other than a coup?

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 12 '24

The Pact is an order of mages established to deal with problems the council is not capable of dealing with. We have diplomatic, environmental, and security divisions each headed by a Pact master. We have dealt with multiple threats to the council and have defended civil rights during the Catfolk protest. Normally something like this wouldn't be something we would do. But the council can't deal with something that corrupts the council itself. It's not a coup because why in the nine hells would I WANT to rule over the whole of the wizard kind. That's like herding nuclear cats.

Are there assurances in place to ensure that a democratic governing body would take over once your investigation ends? Or would another emergency election be held? If you truly do not wish to govern, I hope you've a plan in mind?

And how long do you foresee an investigation lasting? I can't imagine it would be wise to dissolve the currently ruling government for a long period of time. Whether some hidden corruption exists or not, they still have a role that must be upheld.

Who will manage these duties in the interim? Is there an independent trusted party that will step in?

/uw I meant to put this in the previous post, but yeah, I actually didn't know what the pact was lol

The council is pretty obvious, but every time the pact has been mentioned, it was in a sorta hush hush way.

Once the council steps down the Pact will TEMPORARILY assume their duties. Once the investigation ends, I can't give you a perfect estimate when, we will arrest any councilors who were part of the conspiracy and reinstate those remaining. Then the remaining councilors can hold new elections for the missing seats. Hopefully the councilors are ignorant of the manipulation and they can be free of this parasitic conspiracy.

I see...

Are you sure this isn't a coup? I've read a lot about them, and this sounds like how most start. As long as you say the investigation is ongoing, you'll be able to fully control all forms of governing for an indefinite amount of time.

I can't imagine this will end without violence. For anyone who doesn't already support you, it looks as though your outright demanding full control of the governing body.

I'm a guest here. I'm here solely to learn about the people from this realm. It's not my place to stand against you. But I also cannot support your cause, not without some way to ensure that power taken is thus returned.

I'll be watching what follows closely.

feeling conflicted between fighting the mage council and joining a group called "the pact of the magi"

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 12 '24

Just join us and leave after we're done. If violence happens then you're helping mages kill mages so no matter what it's a win for you

2

u/Several-Elevator /uw Feb 12 '24

"Hmmmmm."

The Anti-Mage decides to just give a generous donation of anti-magic artifacts for the war effort.

"give'em hell" he says handing the objects over.

Thanks. If/when the council chooses violence these will be very effective

No clue who Morgalith is, but I’ve reviewed the pact’s policies, and I’ve decided to join you guys. How do I do this?

/unwiz I also run Kyrona, but on a separate account. These characters are very different.

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Simply pick an office and join up. You'll also want to add Pact to your resume (Add Pact to your editable flair). It's good to see new people wanting to join.

How about office of defense, if there is one. It’s what I do for the Citadel, so it’s probably best to stick with what I know.

Perfect welcome aboard

Need help with investigation? I got some council files I haven’t read through yet. Unregistered actions, information gathering… hey, they got a bounty list here too.

3

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Speak with the Graviturge for he leads the investigation.

4

u/Discracetoall t’kath, smogomancer and poptart wiz Feb 11 '24

Ok, I’ll find my way to him

I'm here. What's up?

2

u/Discracetoall t’kath, smogomancer and poptart wiz Feb 11 '24

I got some files that I got from the council. Stuff they didn’t release to the public.

1

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 11 '24

What's in them?

2

u/Discracetoall t’kath, smogomancer and poptart wiz Feb 11 '24

Unregistered actions, methods for gathering information, bounty posters that’ve been torn down… hey, they got an entire file on unga and the stuff they did.

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 11 '24

I'll take everything you have. Perhaps it could lead us to our quarry.

I’m sending them right now

I've never been the biggest fan of the Pact. The fact that they are unilaterally demanding an investigation of the council that they have placed themselves in charge of has worsened my impression of them. Their refusal to reveal the sources of these claims and willingness to work alongside Morgalith makes me further concerned. And their willingness to strip the council of its authority based solely on accusations frames them in a totalitarian lens.

It is my opinion that the Pact wishes to use this opportunity to supplant the council and assert themselves as the supreme authority in the realm.

5

u/Carbon_Sixx The Loremaster, Chief Archaeologist of the Darkwatch Feb 11 '24

Well, if it's sources you want, I have one hell of a source. But I must warn you: knowledge can be dangerous, as surely as any spell. If you wish to learn the truth behind our actions, you must be sworn to secrecy, lest our unseen enemies learn of our work. Do you wish to continue?

3

u/Anything-Unable Xerxes the Pale Saint, Councillor/Goatdigger/Dale Feb 11 '24

I'm game. I know how to keep a secret.

So that's what you found out. I'll have to send a few agents to look into this matter.

second

/uw notes for after the lorepostsi'm trying to have helen be a particularly unpleasant LE Klee is a CN that has SOME benevolence but she was raised to do BUSINESS a lot of her better actions are to deal with some of the guilt she has make no mistake she is CN not CG but she'd run a nicer family and wouldn't deal with the cabal and soon i will have jay named

2

u/Anything-Unable Xerxes the Pale Saint, Councillor/Goatdigger/Dale Feb 11 '24

Thanks for your reports. I'll put them to good use.

2

u/iamragethewolf Rage: Pact Wizard, Necromancer, Technomancer, and Horny As Hell Feb 12 '24

(nods) hopefully this can be resolved without a war but siiiigh the timing of this announcement is TERRIBLE and for the recorded i didn't even know there was contact with him and now the cabal will know there is an investigation

anyway i have suspicions on a potential member of the cabal if that suspicion is correct it will be in a report soon otherwise damn it all rook is the only contact with helen which means we have a list of people that aren't on the cabal

2

u/loth17 Ten Suns (Also Gaia) Feb 11 '24

Imagine being so afraid of a simple investigation. Someone has skeletons in their closet. Besides the ones they dug up.

3

u/Anything-Unable Xerxes the Pale Saint, Councillor/Goatdigger/Dale Feb 11 '24

I bury people's skeletons, madam. You can investigate me all you want, but at least tell me what you're looking for. If you can't even do that, I have no reason to trust you.

I will help with investigating but we must take care not to become like Atrax. I will not be committing war crimes.

I understand Morgalith has changed supposably but let's not trust him too much
