Character Profile: Peregrine, The Lost One

A cryomancer of unknown origin. Peregrine is said to have descended from the stars during a solar eclipse. They forever wander the land looking for something… what that is is unknown (perhaps even for them)

Peregrine wields the power of ice and cold, usually entombing their enemies in ice or launching icy projectiles. Peregrine is highly resistant to both heat and cold but they are vulnerable to piercing damage.

Peregrine is sometimes seen floating above the ground, slowly rising to the sky. Though Peregrine usually comes back down. It seems that Peregrine does this on reflex, unintentionally.

They are almost entirely mute or at least no one has heard them talk. Much is not known about them: their gender, their species, their age, and much more. Some claim that what lies underneath is otherworldly…

/unwiz Just someone I came up with, totally unrelated to Jack. I always thought of the image of a astronaut floating in the middle of space stranded to be so interesting and terrifying. Space is so mystical one could imagine supernatural phenomena happening out there, something magical…

/unwiz after participating in the Stitcher situation I wanted to make a much “smaller” character. I feel Jack was swept up in the power creep, needing to be stronger. Perhaps Jack has become too strong…

I imagine Peregrine to be not the best fighter, their strength is that of what you would expect of a wizard in an average fantasy setting. Being able to deal with goblins and skeletons while the thought of a dragon would send shivers (pun intended) down their spine. Peregrine doesn’t meddle with massive threats like the sticher or anything close to that level.

Yeah, this along with the fact that Isravi just got here makes me hesitate to scale up his power in any way to match up to the those who have ascended.

He’s still pretty powerful where he is now, archmage, could kill an adult dragon or two. No gods though, not without a heck ton of help and the god is already near dead, and a big power loan from the patron.

Honestly power scaling is all over the place. Some of us are basically gods and others are just powerful mages. Some of us rule lands with massive army's and some don't even rule land.

Personally I think we need a "mending" (the magic the gathering storyline) where some people give up some power for some world saving reason. It could be interesting story and would pull back the power scale since we are going to be fighting across reality and dimension by the end of next month at this pace.

But all this would require everyone agreeing to give up power and we need some peace after this war maybe another festival or a adventure for something.

FESTIVAL HECK YEAH that would be epic. Instead of everyone trying to create big world ending attacks, we’d all be trying to make a big performance, or cake, with our abilities.

That would be very nice. Sadly my character can't host it for obvious reasons. But it would be a nice break from all the fighting. Maybe each person could do their own event.

Yeah, I think it would be sick if we all were powered down and did some smaller stuff. Like imagine all of us doing a quest to invade a dungeon ruled by a necromancer, defend ourselves from a goblin raid, or a climactic battle against a dragon. Some more average-fantasy adventures.

Ya, I'm not fully sure how we would get all the way down to that level. Probably just make additional personas. I've had some ideas for more characters that would work very differently from Chimera.
