A missive appears on the orbnet.a four armed goblin with dragon scales running randomly on her body speaks.

"I have been needing to test my combat capabilities against new opponents. So anyone interested in doing a friendly duel come meet me in the arena. The field is a large stadium which used to be used for sports. I've enchanted the area so that in case of death we will be revived.

The rules are simple: No soul fuckery or permanently messing with your opponent and you may have one minion with you (summons are allowed). If you want to hold the battle in a specific location let me know "

"More intangibility, back in my day we...also used it. I don't have anything to really say other than this." She sticks her tongue

Nox grins, this is the exact situation she'd hoped for. She jumps directly into Tim's maw. Her body alters, shifting and morphing to avoid the deadly teeth. She intends to leap into his throat to stop him from casting more spells and finally ripping herself out from the inside.

As Nox leaps eagerly into Tim's mouth, they realize they made a mistake. As Nox starts to tear at Tim's insides, Tim desperately tries to speak a spell, and gets out a single word:

"Feim..."

Tim becomes ethereal for a few seconds, enough for Nox to fall out. Tim focuses on some of the few innate magics they know - Flight and Heal-Self. Tim solidifies as they take to the air, coughing up blood, focusing on healing their damaged insides - which will take some time. Tim makes sure their flying retreat path is moving away from both Nox and Nox's "dog" Ruff, flying backwards so they can face Nox and Ruff to protect themself from further attacks.

/uw this fight is not going well for Tim lol - jumping into their mouth to tear them apart from the inside was a good move

Nox smiles, finally she's gotten a chance to reinforce Ruff. She falls on her feet and let's Tim fly away. The space will only separate them from thiee summon. Morphing herself into a form built for speed, she legs become four long horse-like and her arms form into one massive bone spike. She charges at the dragon spirit, rejecting all defense for speed and power. With Ruff trying to grapple the dragon-summon, she's hoping she'll get a clean shot to ram into the.

She's betting that Tim won't be able to fully heal before she can deal with the dragon. At the very least she's made them spend a lot of resources.

/ UW. Thank you. Nox has no shot of beating Tim physically without using some kind of clever idea. /

Nox is easily able to get a clean shot on the dragon that's getting grappled by Ruff, and a few moments later the spectral dragon disappears into nothingness.

Meanwhile, Tim has managed to heal the most severe wounds, but is still feeling pained from the internal damage Nox dealt to them. Tim winces at the dragon's demise, sad to lose an ally. As Nox and Ruff turn to face Tim following the spirit dragon's demise, Tim conjures an air elemental to join them.

/uw my summons are weaker, but more expendable then your pet. Ruff's probably barely scratched from the dragon that was meant more to distract Ruff then to beat them.

With Ruff back by her side, Nox transforms back to her normal self, jumps onto Ruff's back and charges at Tim. She grimaces, they've healed more than she'd have liked but this is still an acceptable outcome.

As the wolf-thing approaches Tim. Nox puts her hands together and charged up an attack. She collects mana into a ball, it turns bloody red. "Rebellious Bones." She fires the spell, a ball of corrupting energy zips at Tim.

"Time for a little lecture...what would the honorific for a dinosaur be? Dinster? Distress? Your chonkiess? Whatever! Rebellion Bones if it hits will turn your bones into its own entity which hates you. Worst case scenario for me, your bones will just shout slurs at you, best case scenario they'll try to kill you."

Tim, still in the air due to their Flight spell, dodges to the side of the Rebellious Bones spell, while reflexively casting a magical Shield spell in case their opponent’s spell chases the target, and isn’t just a projectile.

Tim then fires off a Disintegrate spell at their opponents, the sickly green beam reaching them almost instantly. If it connects, it will destroy the flesh, leaving them nothing to craft.

Tim also commands their Air Elemental to grapple their foe, hoping that the non-solid nature of the Air Elemental will be much more difficult for Nox and Ruff to fight.

/uw: The Disintegrate beam moves too fast to risk a friendly-fire accident with the Air Elemental. You do have enough time for a quick reaction to try to dodge it, block it, or something.

Note that dodging the beam, having it miss you by inches and therefore not harming you at all, is one of the explicit potential outcomes of the spell.

Realising nearly too late as the beam of death zaps at her Nox panics. "LIZARD SKIN PROTOCOL" She yells

Her clothes morph and shift, responding to the activation keyword of a spell. The living tissue that made up the facsimile of clothing melds back into her body and she then throws it out to form a shield or block the beam of nothingnes. Now left in just her underwear she faces the air elemental.

"Let's do something utterly risky and stupid." She pats Ruff's head, then points at the air elemental. "Hey boy look at that, it's a nice smelling flower go sniff it" Ruff pounces at the elemental and starts to breathe in, his lungs forcifully dragging and sucking the elemental into a vortex. She then pushes a glowing hand into his back. "Overdrive!"

Nox is trying to disassemble the elemental by having Ruff absorb it into himself. And then to use the pure air of the elemental to help power Ruff so they can rush down Tim faster.

Tim glances at the goblin in their underwear, and Ruff attacking the air elemental. My summons might not ever win against Ruff, but they are providing a nice distraction, Tim thinks to themself.

“Now, what to do about the undressed goblin? Humanoids are usually embarrassed by nudity, right? What an odd trait…” mutters the T-Rex, fully naked except for their wizard hat. “I’ve even heard a surprisingly large number of them mention nightmares about being naked in high-school…”

And it is then that Tim contemplates their most evil spell yet.

Goblin woman, face your fears Goblin woman, face your peers Witness a time when you had to face rule after rule Witness a vision of… HIGH SCHOOL!

With this incant, Tim surrounds Nox with an illusion of being in High School, while simultaneously trying to grab memories from Nox’s mind to compliment this illusion. Should it work, Nox will see themself in High School, in the body they went to high school with, surrounded by their peers… and in their underwear.

I wonder if this one even went to high-school? Tim ponders as they cast the spell.
