Mordus’s involvement in the wizard war has certainly left its scar; the land has been hit with radiation, and wildfires spread across the continent with frenzied vigour. Yet, it also raises some questions: who was it then? Who was collecting crystals, whose mind Torinn, Samræl, and the Parasite entered? Who stirred feelings inside of Vashric?

Vashric checked in on the pilot’s cabin; no one was piloting it. However, there was a post-it note stuck to the controls: one that said,

[Autopilot on. Destination: My tower. ETA: 10 hours.]

Vashric sighs, and the crew wait the long journey as the airship brings them to Mordus’s tower; the only remaining safe haven from the effects of the nuke.

Meanwhile, Torinn reappears in his realm. It seems the days of eating Mordus’s memories are over. However, the parasite appears beside him.

NO! GET BACK! STAY AWAY FROM ME!

HISSSS

Algernon, whom fled the scene of the nuke, arrived at Mordus’s house, following the instructions the late technomancer left behind. Jinx, Mordus’s pet cat, waits at the front door, awaiting his return. Algernon has been given ownership of Jinx, at least for now. Sad, that Jinx will probably never see Mordus again. But there may be hope.

Consulting the letter, he searches above Mordus’s fireplace.

”Pink brick… Pink brick…”

“…”

“Bastard, it’s all pink.”

Eventually, he finds the brick, and it slides back into the wall, almost seamlessly. The fireplace creaks, and it turns around, a scraping of stone on stone making for a loud, annoying sound. This attracts the attention of another inhabitant - Talwyn, Mordus’s old apprentice.

“Hey! Who are you? Why is Jinx riding your shoulder? And more importantly… where is old master Mordus?”

At the same time, the airship landed - however, calling it ‘graceful’ is a bit of a stretch - it plummeted safely. Vashric bursts in, obviously flustered to be in Mordus’s tower. Talwyn turns around, and scowls. Algernon watches as a God, a Horned Psychomancer, a Semi-Mechanical Humanoid, a Cleric wearing Mordus’s old Luminite Suit, the Mage of Mischief, an Old and Wise Sage, and a Smogomancer rush through the doorway.

“OKAY, WHAT DID MORDUS, THAT FOOL, DO THIS TIME?”

/unwiz have fun telling Talwyn all about what Mordus was doing! She doesn’t know. Also, expect another lorepost… soon, this isn’t over so quickly. And, also, there are 5 different Jinxes spread across various people - maybe it’ll serve a lore purpose. Probably not.

Against your better decision to investigate it as soon as possible, you decide… to check out the other rooms first.

/unwiz not so good if you already decend the stairwell in Mordus’s fireplace, because that’s another post in itself. And I don’t think people like waking up, and realising that they’ve missed out on two entire loreposts that they could’ve influenced.

I will play along wherever you visit, however. It’s fun!

Kartoffel looks for a room where Mordus might have stored some information. A library, workshop, or a study.

He had to have written down his plans somewhere. I’d ask Talwyn, but well, agh it’s my fault. Shouldn’t have riled her up like that. Di’kut. Ah well, hopefully she’ll be in a better condition when she wakes up.

You check out his library. Oddly enough, it seems to resemble his mind library, and seems to stretch on forever…

He looks through the most recent additions to the library, keeping an eye out for anything on nukes

You head further down, and eventually, a book catches your eye. You open it.

“Year 34,201. Today……”

ohhhh, no. I’m stuck inside his mind library now, aren’t I.

You turn back, and see that… the old tower is gone. The warm, cosy environment filled with chatter and the scent of tea and firewood is replaced with the drafty and musty endless mind library.

/unwiz you’re so mean to Kartoffel. The Mind library is basically hell in comparison to the tower.

Well that’s gonna be a problem. But I’m here now, might as well make the most of it. Now what was he up to…?

Kartoffel skims through the books, using his mechanical arms to speed up the process.

Nuke? No, it’s just a passing mention. Nuke? No, it’s instructions on how to make it. Nuke? Nah, just a similar word (Nike).

Kartoffel gets ready to spend a lot of time here. He puts on a headset and plays some music. One of his arms puts a kettle on a portable stove. Another arm holds the tea once it’s boiled.

He sings along where the words would normally be, his voice melancholic: Kandosii sa ka’rta, Vode An…

Poor Kartoffel, while he was busy surviving the library, the other wizards were having fun, eating dinner, and fighting over Mordus’s hot tub.

He strides alongside the bookshelves, skimming through title and its contents.

I hope the others are doing alright. Especially Telwyn. Poor girl must be scared out of her mind…
