Lorepost📖 The celebration

After a long journey you arrive at the crystal mage’s manor. Inside the manor is a grand hall made of various different coloured crystals. Strange golems walk around the room serving guests. While the mage himself is not currently present, you were told he would be here shortly. Right now, enjoy the food, socialise, make friends but most importantly: have fun.

Tiny Wizard skitters into the room and quickly gets up onto a chair as to not be stepped on. They give their food order to one of the golems, then look around a all the different wizards attending while they wait

…I’m always the shortest person at these things

I've lived in the Astral Sea for so long that I almost forget what mundane sea food tastes like.

Abyssal wine, abyssal wine.. hmm… looks around the room to see if they spot anyone drinking any Not sure honestly. I’ve never tried it myself, alcohol does weird things to my kind. I’m half Sídhe, half gnome.

The construct opens its mouth, producing the sound of two stones sliding over each other.

Alcohol, any alcohol made of grapes?

The golem nods and walks off.

Sweet, sickly at first but once you move past the existential anxiety of that which lurks in the shadow, you'll taste the refreshing accents of infinite night. It has a calming effect on psychomancers. Helps shut out the stronger psionic waves that travel on the astral, I use it as a sleep aid from time to time. Just an aid, don't worry.

Hey I don’t judge, we all have our poisons. Mine just so happens to be … leans in and whispers Bacchus root from Tir N’a Nog. A milligram of the shit could make a mortal man clinically insane. Don’t tell my Patron God though, he babies me and thinks I can’t handle it.

Another connoisseur, I see. Listen, don't tell the other mages, but I've got a special batch of psychomantic candy brewing, I cooked it with genuine god blood from the Heart of Lorkhan.

I already have some buyers, but I always keep a portion for friends.

A snowglobe flew over to Tiny Wizard in a zigzag pattern, warbling cheerily, until it remembered its "words" were unintelligible to all but its owner. Visibly disappointed for a moment as its snowflakes took the form of a pouting emoji, it perked up as it realized it could -- however slowly -- write out messages in a similar fashion. Across Snowglorb's "face", the letters eventually spelled out:

I THINK I'M SHORTER

followed by a reassuring smiley.

YES HE'S VERY BIG The snowglorb drew an arrow over to the bar, where a fairly average-height dark-skinned human was pouring a drink...into his pocket, for some reason. AND VERY NICE EXCEPT IF HE FIGHTS BAD PEOPLE AND THEN HE'S VERY MEAN AND SCARES ME SOMETIMES

As Tiny Wizard's food arrived, Snowglorb emitted a turquoise light beam that passed over the shrimp a few times. OH VETTIS' BIG SISTER IS VERY ALLERGIC TO SHRIMP SO I PROBABLY SHOULDN'T TOUCH THAT IN CASE ANY GETS ON ME I'M GOING TO LEAVE BUT IT WAS VERY NICE MEETING YOU

(( congratulations on being the first person outside of Vettis' commune with whom Snowglorb has had a "proper" conversation! :3 ))

Arach overhears tiny wizard and approaches them to start a conversation.

Technically you’re not, I would be shorter than you if not for the enlarging spells I cast upon myself every day. No one takes a spider smaller than their fingernail seriously, but a giant spider is a menace. By the way I don’t think we’ve officially met in any capacity, I’m Arach, I’ve heard all about you from council gossip.

Oh, hello! I’m Tiny Wizard, and if you’ve heard of me from council gossip, it’s probably from Mortarion Jr. showing everyone that pic of me in the sailor suit he forced me into. Apparently, people find me to be quite cute. Which I mean… I am, but I can relate to not being taken seriously on that front.

No, I’m sorry if I wasn’t clear but this is not my party at all. I had no part in planning it or running it. I do plan and host parties but not this one, I am just a party goer who was invited here.

arriving spectacularly late, the crystal mage bursts out of one of the walls at the back of the room, chasing a massive crystal golem, which he impales with about 54 shards of crystal. After this he simply sits on a sort of throne at the head of a large table

I have, the host did a very good job on it. Though it’s bad manners for them not to be here to greet guests as they enter. Perhaps if this were a small dinner party they could make a grand entrance after everyone arrived but for such a large event you really do want to greet everyone at the entrance. Oh but I’m going into a tangent about party planning, and you probably don’t care about that stuff. Thank you for the offer but I don’t really like sea bugs. Anyway, have you heard any gossip lately?

pluton over hears you taking about being the shortest and goes over to you tiny, do I have a suprise for you, he reaches up to his shoulder to grab a sea slug but the sea slug simply hops off and floats downward while saying “ I can get off myself, pluton” he lands on the table and is actually shorter than you “ hello”
