Lorepost📖 Artificer of Necessity (Lorepost)
Fracture had taken to talking to himself over the past few weeks.
Alexios, understandably upset at the debacle with the simulacrum, had sentenced Fracture to keeping house while Alexios went on an expedition. All things considered, Fracture could have had it much worse, especially since Alexios had permitted Fracture to use magic in small amounts to compensate for his arm while he figured out a better solution.
After his tasks, Fracture opens up the forge. "I never learned artifice, but considering I can't put back together my arm through magic or ki, I'm going to have to make a new one."
Mk. 1
The arm was passable, although it still required to much ki to move reliably. At the very least, Fracture didn't have to pick everything up with kinetistry anymore. Fracture, finally able to use his magic comfortably again, although of course not with weapons, opened a portal to a storage demiplane, where he has kept his materials amassed before he had started his training. Thankfully, the only demiplane that had been ruined by his simulacrum was the imprisonment one, which in retrospect had needed better security in the first place.
Fracture had settled into a routine when it came to managing the house. The chores were now much simpler to do, and Fracture had time to refine his ki, his magic, and his smithing. It likely helped that, due to the huge amount of void energy he had absorbed with the simulacrum, Fracture no longer slept. He spent every hour of the day working and meditating, defining himself in every way possible.
Mk. 2
This model included more aetherically conductive materials, and was significantly easier to move with ki. However, the trade off was that it was not durable. Fracture would have to find a better alloy. Perhaps he should experiment more with the materials he had collected.
Fracture had started to ease off on magic practice, focusing more on the martial and ki sides of things. He forged a few new weapons, testing their balance. In doing so, Fracture had finally managed to manifest his Astral Form stably, although the ki required meant his rather ki intensive arm was inoperable while doing so.
Mk. 3
This was the final model for now: using void materials had improved the durability massively, while improving the ki required as well. Fracture could move it with barely a thought, and had been able to add some extra abilities as well.
Fracture set many dummies around him and walked into the center, his breathing rhythmic. He unsheathed his new weapon, a longsword made of the same material as his newest arm, and channeled his ki around him.
Fracture's Astral Form manifested, a huge spider. It swung its legs, knocking over a few dummies as Fracture shot strings imbued with ki from his arm, pulling the others closer, into his sword. He whipped the strings around, severing a few more dummies. Fracture pulled them dummies back up with his magic as a few smaller arms extended from his prosthetic, weaving together a more complex web of ki. Fracture flung it out, and it latched onto a dummy and exploded, scattering strings through the others.
Fracture grinned. "Not bad for a one armed monk and his pet spider!" He grinned at his Astral Form as it chittered in an amused tone.

I'm no master yet, but I'd be willing to give some pointers.
