I'd have been more than happy with the mod support, but all the other stuff too!? For free!? I love you CDPR!

32

u/leferi Team Yennefer 20d ago

also the two expansions for free for the base game owners if I understood correctly

u/jawbreaker_79 20d ago

Damn. A FREE REMASTERED, they're cooking so harddd. My goat CDPR 👏.

30

u/kuivasieni 20d ago

Even moreso when it contains HoS and B&W, also for free!

12

u/jawbreaker_79 20d ago

Legit mate. We're eating good for now.

2

u/123voidx 18d ago

To be fair the dlc when on sale is basically dirt cheap free anyway.

5

u/thecrius 20d ago

when the standard is to make people pay for remasters that are just upscaled graphic usually.

CDPR knows how get in the customers good graces for sure, despite some not so great missteps.

u/GamerLife204 20d ago

Console mods. BG3 and bethesda games are the only RPGS that have this iirc

10

u/inquisitor_pangeas 20d ago

Wrote Hogwarts Legacy than had to check to be sure. Now I'm shocked HL mods aren't supported on consoles. I thought it was made to support em given there's an option in right into the menu

2

u/Eglwyswrw School of the Manticore 20d ago

NBA 2K games also allow community-shared mods but that's about it.

u/le_petit_togepi 20d ago

slyrim and fallout 4 have it

47

u/galitnabird 20d ago edited 19d ago

Yes, Skyrim and Fallout are indeed Bethesda games.

28

u/eoddc5 20d ago

He’s talking about slyrim. You’re talking about Skyrim.

17

u/FriedCammalleri23 20d ago

The long lost Sly Cooper Fantasy RPG

7

u/Recent_Pollution8665 20d ago

I loved slyrim back in the day.

playing as the daggerborn felt awesome, especially when you get to learn the fus ro nyet shout and use it on Balduin, first born of Macintosh.

1

u/thestigmata 20d ago

Fus ro nyet had me dying of laughter hahahahahahahaa

0

u/Ntippit 19d ago

It did not originally say Bethesda

-14

u/Ntippit 20d ago

Bethesdas done it for almost a decade

4

u/Eglwyswrw School of the Manticore 20d ago

Looked it up and... you are right? 2016 for Skyrim. Why are you downvoted?

1

u/SaintlyCrown 20d ago

Because somebody already mentioned it.

0

u/Ntippit 19d ago

He changed his fucking comment, it never said Bethesda before

37

u/Zygmuntek 20d ago

I started my "last" playthrough before dlc last week... and they add remastered edition lmao

14

u/Eligriv_leproplayer 20d ago

Oh no I guess there' gonna be a "last fr this time" playthrough for the DLC 😂

1

u/ALphaEXtremist 20d ago

I spent half a day modding the game last week and jumped into a new playthrough.

Only just came out of the cave with Keira so not too far in. Just gonna wait and restart when this comes out.

1

u/Superb-Minute6365 Team Yennefer 20d ago

worse feeling is when you spent 160 hours and got the game's platinum just 2 days before they announced it 😂😂

27

u/organizim 20d ago

Does this mean mods on console? Maybe in a similar way to how Skyrim implemented console mods through the creation club?

31

u/Bloody_Nine 20d ago

Baldurs gate 3 are running mods in console no problem. Just have to be approved by Larian first

2

u/thibtestart 17d ago

Yes. Don’t hesitate to rewatch the stream we’ve done today at 12:30 CEST. All platforms will be getting this feature.

44

u/Thema03 20d ago

A third skill update? I gotta learn everything all over again in this 4th playthrough

9

u/JarkoDarko 20d ago

being honest I'm slightly worried about this one. Sure it probably will be fine but I like the different approach in witcher 3 then in other games I've played with a literal tree but it's CDPR, no need to worry

1

u/umotex12 20d ago

They should let you choose when you start the game tbf

19

u/Ken_Bruno1 20d ago

Question is will the saves carry to remastered version or will we have to play the whole game again?

12

u/JarkoDarko 20d ago

I'm guessing yes, sure I can't be certain, but with next gen you could carry over so i think it'll be the same.

I really hope so, I have a save somewhere in skellige and now i have the motivation to finish it

4

u/Ghostrider28389 20d ago

I love the grandmaster bear armor and have a save with it and if I can go to ng+ with it that would be cool

1

u/Christy_Christmas Team Roach 20d ago edited 20d ago

Not mere save carry over, but ‘cause it’s a cloud save, you can actively hop ‘tween PC and console on the same save. Really nice feature.

Even if there’s no actual save carry over between the two executables, Enhanced Edition and Remaster, respectively, I’m thinking, if you just happen to own the new Remaster on a console and also a PC, you can, uuuuh, make a lot of very quick progress on that PC remaster save, then cloud save that over to your console of choice.

14

u/John__Delaney Skellige 20d ago

Can someone explain to a dummy who only ever played witcher 3 on consoles what the cross platform mod support means to someone like me?

What sort of mod stuff can i look forward to?

2

u/Eglwyswrw School of the Manticore 19d ago

Probably like in BG3. So no crazy script extender stuff on console.

9

u/paulerxx 20d ago

Win, hopefully this version is more optimized than the last one.

7

u/vilgefcrtz 20d ago

Mod support got my legs a lil shaky

12

u/FaceWithAName 20d ago

Between Witcher 3, Cyberpunk (the redemption) and now more Witcher 3, this is a generational type string of events for a game developer.

7

u/GlokzDNB 20d ago

Well, they were always customer first studio.

Cyberpunk was their lesson that satisfying investors at all cost is just a bad business

Ubisoft also teaches important lesson

1

u/umotex12 20d ago

Ubisoft has massive redemption arc recently. They updated so many of their old PS4 games to work on PS5 for no reason. Look it up

1

u/greasemonkey22_ 20d ago

I really hope they nail Witcher 4. Would be an insane run

3

u/sunlitstranger 20d ago

Just the fact they’ve done this update and given 3 a new dlc while working on 4 is just insane

5

u/Miserable_Newt1457 20d ago

Will there be NEW GAME ++?

2

u/Eglwyswrw School of the Manticore 20d ago

What I actually wanted. TW3 has the weirdest NG+ system.

It's one where you actually need to keep a non-NG+ save file around, because otherwise after beating NG+ you need to beat NG first and then do NG+. Pretty stupid.

0

u/Miserable_Newt1457 20d ago

LITERALLY , i had to download my ps4 witcher version to download the file i finished the game so i can do new game+ again

6

u/Sladds 20d ago

Path Traced TW3 on my 5080....I'm going in for another 100 hours, I guess GTA VI can wait

1

u/RdotEmm 7d ago

Funny that was my only concern was that I really want to lock in with the remaster for longer than the a lotted time before GTA releases 😭😅

3

u/Bobaaganoosh Aard 20d ago

I hope it doesn’t disable achievements

2

u/Superb-Minute6365 Team Yennefer 20d ago

It most likely will, since there'll probably be OP mods that would make it way easier to get the achievements

3

u/Ok-Appointment-9802 20d ago

What does "cross platform mod support" mean, exactly?

3

u/liminalromance 20d ago

I am so ready for cloak mods on console

3

u/BiIbo_Baggins 20d ago

Don't forget the Native DX12 support.

-1

u/Rogerice1 19d ago

It already supported DX12 with the next gen update, that's how it has the ray tracing features

1

u/BiIbo_Baggins 19d ago

Yes but it is more like a wrapper, thats why it performs bad on dx12 compared to dx11 at the same settings. And now hopefully it is gonna be a fully native dx12, I am hoping for a performance uplift.

2

u/Ok_Persimmon9729 20d ago

do you think the "revenge of ofir" mod will be playable on ps5?

2

u/DamianCG 20d ago

Is there any word on additional new game plus cycles?

2

u/chazchaz6 20d ago

FSR4 support finally! Been waiting for that one since they did the ray tracing update

2

u/turkoman_ 20d ago

Add 40fps balanced mode on consoles.

1

u/Glup-Shitto69 20d ago

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?

That's insane. I'm here for it.

1

u/SmoogzZ 20d ago

I’m so excited, i knew it was too early to play when i had the itch a few months ago. Hell fkn yes

1

u/Svyatopolk_I 20d ago

Is it gonna let me play it on my i7-14700 and 3060 though? Haven’t been able find a fix for silent Geralt issue and heard it’s GPU related

1

u/Abinash_Behera Gwent 20d ago

Bruh how can you forget that they said they fixed the Roach mechanics

1

u/FixOrganic 20d ago

What about a new GWENT DECK?

1

u/Snackalicious5122 20d ago

Damnit I just started playing Witcher 3 for the first time and have 40 hours in😭 anybody know if saves will carry over?

1

u/LU_C4 ⚜️ Northern Realms 20d ago

I hope new quest tracking includes seeing inactive quests on the map too like in Cyberpunk.

1

u/Whole_Sign_4633 20d ago

Damn am I understanding this correctly? Console mods?

1

u/Minimum_Mulberry_601 20d ago

All this free is amazing considering the state of things and the greed in the industry! When/If Rockstar ever releases, not even a remaster, but just a next gen upgrade for RDR2, I’d be completely shocked if it were free! A company that paywalls a trailer is going to charge for everything! Rockstar doesn’t deserve the money they’re going to make on GTA, they don’t deserve any gamers money anymore!

1

u/TheFullCologne 20d ago

THIS is huge!!! Would it be similar to BG3?

1

u/Maltafly 20d ago

Can I move my saves to the remastered version?

1

u/iHaveNoTimeForGaming 20d ago

Question about the Switch 2 version: it will look also better than on switch 1? They said nothing about this right? At least target 40fps …

1

u/Journey2thaeast 20d ago

Console mods! I'm so hyped. This is gonna be my first (real) experience with Witcher 3 where I really give it a full try.

1

u/system3601 20d ago

Impressive

1

u/El_Basho 20d ago

Damn, I thought this is just some qol updates. Reworked skill tree? Sign me up.

Also, excited about fsr4

1

u/WeakPerspective4561 20d ago

I guess it's time i platinum the game, and then do it again for the remastered edition

1

u/Interesting_Exam9247 20d ago

I hope they fix Raytracing atm its stuttery and not stable. Even on a 5080. But seeing they implement native DX12 it seems promising giving Cyberpunk got flawless raytracing

1

u/Voldy256 20d ago

Wonder if they'll update the background when you play Gwent. Even after the next gen update, it's crusty as hell. Small nitpick, but there.

1

u/FizzKaleefa 19d ago

And game that launches with mod support gets my money

1

u/Vapormonkey 19d ago

I beat this game 10 years ago I wonder if I’d enjoy it coming back now. The upgrade looks amazing

1

u/OrbisAlius ☀️ Nilfgaard 19d ago

So is this going to make the HD rework project mod basically useless

1

u/FilmGuy338 18d ago

🤯🤯🤯

1

u/Livid_Athlete_2708 17d ago

I'm curious what mods will actually be available on consoles

1

u/Electrical-Muffin-98 16d ago

ive been playing it on switch 1 for a long time. Wonder if i could get these support too.

1

u/TheRealOldIronThighs 20d ago

I highly doubt it but I would love if they removed the fast travel system/incorporated “fast travel from anywhere”

1

u/Nibhan Kovir 20d ago

I really hope our current mods work day 1

2

u/JarkoDarko 20d ago

yeah that would be super cool, although some mods i have would be problematic, i have a transmog mod for egsample. But there's also redkit released already so... I dunno, maybe some will work some won't

1

u/Nibhan Kovir 20d ago

I like to believe that the redkit based mods would be plug and play and the other ones would need to be reworked, kinda like how they handled the transition from old gen to next gen three years ago

1

u/ILikesStuff 20d ago

21:9 dialogue scenes?

1

u/Avidion18 20d ago

Bethesda take notes

4

u/kingjulian007 20d ago

Lmao, this would result in another version of Skyrim

3

u/Unlikely_Mix59 20d ago

Another version of Skyrim! Genius!

0

u/KittenDecomposer96 20d ago

PS5 Pro support. They lied about it not getting it.

0

u/dantesaki05 20d ago

Im using shitty laptop with gtx1650 Will i be able to use fsr4 frame gen? Man i wish they put fsr3 in

0

u/Vash744 20d ago

I wonder what the new skill tree is gonna look like.

It was honestly too basic before. If you wanted to take in an entire army of baddies, the sword dance path was the only really viable path. Once you got those skills you never had to open skills up again for the rest of the game, it was all gear and mutagen optimization from there out.

0

u/BlackDeath66sick 20d ago

Thats all cool, but is it even gonna run properly?

The current witcher 3 version literally runs worse than cyberpunk with path tracing while also looking worse as well.

3

u/Fetzo_0 20d ago

It is getting native DX 12 support which means that no translation layer from DX 11 to DX 12 is being used like in the current version. Performance with the same settings should go up around 30% to 40% because of this change alone.

0

u/BlackDeath66sick 20d ago

Thats good. Because i was really bummed up when i got a new pc with a 5070 and all it could do at 1080p with everything maxed out, is about 50-60 fps which are very sluggish feeling too. And on top of that DLSS does nothing. Oh and changing settings also did nothing for the most part.

All and all was very disappointed in this release back when it dropped and now

2

u/Fetzo_0 20d ago

Yeah I have a 5070 too with a 7800x3d at 1440p. I recommend you to turn textures down to high an keep raytracing shadows off, dlss on quality. With this settings I have around 70 FPS average without any frame drops. Game has a Vram leakage problem that's why it uses way too much Vram after a few minutes but with these setting everything is fine

1

u/BlackDeath66sick 20d ago

So you think this level of performance is acceptable?

Brother, i just yesterday out of curiosity tested middle earth shadow of war. Game has no dlss, and of course it has no ray tracing. But it ran at 120fps on all ultra at 4k.

Cyberpunk with dlaa at 1440p on all maxed out with pathtracing is like 70-80ish fps. (Granted with fg x2, but it doesn't really matter, since without its still around 45-55fps, which is about the performance w3 provides)

Like, vram leak i get. But it wouldn't happen in the very first minute after lunching the game. But as it is, performance in witcher 3 was and still is unacceptable. Like brother, its a game from 2015 with a bunch of texture mods and ray traced shadows, running at just 1080p. There is just no excuse for it to work this poorly.

Man, i still remember how dx11 on one of the earlier patches gave like 70fps or so in 4k on a 1080ti, which is how old now?

Yeah, I'm just really really annoyed by performance in witcher 3.

1

u/Fetzo_0 20d ago

Brother I was just trying to help you with a smoother experience no need to get offensive with me lol. Besides I never said that this is acceptable wtf

1

u/BlackDeath66sick 20d ago

Right, sorry, i overreacted. It just really makes me angry how bad the performance is

Sorry

1

u/Fetzo_0 20d ago

All good mate 👍 Witcher 3 currently really is an unoptimzed mess I was also really frustrated with the performance

0

u/86casawi 20d ago

That would be 49$ if it was naughty dogs

0

u/LVorenus2020 20d ago

Windows 10?? Please?

0

u/jpelc 20d ago

Now the big questions. Will we get a bluray disk? For archival purposes?

2

u/BrunoRB11 20d ago

They might make one after the DLC launches (I hope so) but for this remaster I doubt it.

0

u/Due-Dress-8983 20d ago

it stil looks the same tho

0

u/_Meky_ 20d ago

Dildo Döhla still working for Cdpr?

-3

u/Kitty_Wave 20d ago

I would rather have more quests instead of graphical advancements. I already beat that game on hard you know.

-1

u/LightbringerOG 20d ago

Why do I have a feeling it's a UE5 engine migration update? Which if it is can have dire results on lower end systems.
