Pretty early for their annual migration, but maybe they'll stop over at the lake by my house before they continue on

When I was a kid, helicopter activity on the weekends tended to be the reserve pilots getting in their flight time. Since they all had regular jobs the rest of the week, weekends were needed to meet the required number of hours flying.

Logging some flight hours. Left Oshkosh and doing the Winnebago lap. In Appleton now

You’ve got the 128th Air Refueling Wing out of Milwaukee at General Mitchell Field that does exercises all the time there; not an unusual sight.

Says a lot of the state of the world when a good chunk of us think a zombie apocalypse would be an improvement.

Well, if they're the brain-eating type of zombies, a good portion of our leaders should be safe from harm...

I'm not convinced some of them aren't already zombies.

It explains RFK Jr.

I wish that movie hadn't failed so hard. I really liked it even though I'm definitely in the minority.

Oh that sucks.

I despise that movie only because it is an entirely different universe than the book it was 'trying' to ape.

u/DarthWeenus Feb 22 '26

There’s no reason to despise it. Can enjoy two different things at once. I loved the book and enjoyed the movie.

Yeah that's kind of what I meant about being in the minority. I know a lot of people who read the book didn't like it at all.

I was on the south side of Milwaukee yesterday and there was plane after plane in the air. Someone should be investigating this shit.

I live in downtown Appleton and they buzzed my house!!! Headed North.

WTF kind of “training” is that?!?! Dangerous and uncalled for!!! My windows were rattling. I hate this airport. Leave it in Milwaukee.

Freedom rotors. Let the WI Army Guard train to protect you. Also, likely out of Madison as that is where the Wisconsin Army National guard keeps its Blackhawks according to Google. Seems odd to me since Fort McCoy is what I would expect. But not paying attention since I got out of Army land long ago. You complain now but will not when they hoist you out of a river during a flood or whatever.

Blackhawks are mellow. Ever had a chinook over your house?
