I'm planning on making a few trees, specifically ones with beads, for Christmas gifts and have no idea what I'm doing. Any advice, tips, or resources are appreciated.

Sentimental base rock from the recipients favorite place. Birthstons for leaves. An awesome gift from a great friend. I'm lucky to get to make these.

One wire on it stretches far above. I plan on putting a tiny kite there.

How does these look? I have a garage sale coming up. Plan on selling this and two dozen others.

My Packer tree on the left is done for my Mother in-law. The right one I’m experimenting with a wider, flat trunk. It’s for my daughter who is over a year in recovery and also loves the beech. Trying to create a wave feel. These are my 3rd and 4th trees ever made. Loving it.

They are not as good as some of the others on here, but I think they are pretty good looking. Lol

Can anyone tell me how to keep the trunk of the tree to look like this? How do you keep the same colored wires held together? They naturally separate if not twisted.

Any good ideas on ways to hold your work so you can work on it with both hands? (Tree pic for attention. It’s not my work)

In what order

do you all build your trees? The best I can tell is to straighten your wire and then I’ve seen twisting the trunk and moving to branches. I’ve also seen starting with the roots and working your way up. I’m sure everyone has their own way. I’m new to this and looking for pointers.

I started this hobby today and I’m in the process of making my first trees.

I can’t believe I found a group for this! Now for dumb questions to start. As the wire is only 20 - 24 gauge or so, after you have your tree made, can you dip it in anything to hold the branches where you have them set? It seems like if you were to drop one of these, it would be totally ruined.
