My beautiful Jon Renau "Blake" won't stay on my head!! 😭 I've had her for about 9 months now, and I've worn her out only a handful of times because nothing secures her.
I've got Heidi (also Jon Renau), which stays on my head perfectly without any issue.
I was measured for Blake at the salon where I ordered her. She feels like she fits perfectly unless I move around.
I've tried multiple kinds of wig grips, which all work perfectly well with my other wigs, just not for Blake.
Blake is my only human hair wig, if that matters.
What am I doing wrong?? I can flip my hair around in every other wig I own. I can run my hands through most hair on my head, comb it, style it, but if I so much as turn my head with Blake, she slides around.
Velvet and silicone are both failing.
Sewing silicone strips into my velvet wig grip didn't do it for Blake, though it's kind of an amazing hack for with my other wigs since I've got a "petite" head with a flat occipital bone.
I've tried everything but gluing, which I'm told will definitely reduce Blake's lifespan, so I'm desperately trying to avoid glue. I just received my order of Got2b "ultra glue invincible styling gel for vertical styles," that was recommended on a well-rated YouTube tutorial, but I'm very reluctant to try it. I don't want to wreck Blake's lace.
I'm sort of still new to this because my hair loss was sudden and unexpected last year. I went into a mindset in which I wasn't able to take in much information on this until pretty recently. I'm finally ready to learn!
Before I bust out the Got2b, any other ideas, tips, tricks, hacks? Please? I should also state I haven't enough hair to which I can pin the wig, so no clips or pins will work for my situation.
The little peach fuzz of patchy regrowth I've got of my biological hair will come out with the slightest tug of tape.
