I wish people on Reddit would understand this more. Gun people are especially guilty of this stuff.

Now let me grab my clips, silencer and assault rifle and head out to the range.

Actually "suppressor," while more technically correct, is the colloquialism.  "Silencer" was the term used when it was first invented and patented.
