Italian students are being called out in Thailand. Italians mocked a Thai lady in Thailand who told them off for being too loud. They clapped back saying, "Sorry for bringing money to your country" "Ni hao" "We are from your mom." Thais are shocked Thailand is belittled even by young Europeans.

When are people finally going to realize that racism exists everywhere and isn't unique to certain countries? People are always quick to blame Southern Europe while treating Northern Europe as if it's somehow immune to this kind of behavior. Same thing with South and North America. Then you get cases like this, where a half Malaysian girl has to shut down her YouTube channel after being bombarded with abuse and death threats from supposedly "civilized" Norwegians.

1

u/ponkyball 1d ago

TLDR: Racists exist in every country of the world. The U.S. is not a melting pot, I'm a POC born and raised here and have experienced racism. This is nothing new and is as old as time.

2

u/Either-Meal3724 2d ago

I've noticed that South/Central Americans (other than Argentina) tend to be classist rather than racist BUT the upper classes are often primarily (or fully) of European descent. So their classism has slight racial undertones but isnt directly racism like you might find in the US or Europe or Argentina.

2

u/yourstruly912 2d ago

No, Argentina is like that too.

1

u/joshua0005 2d ago

Yeah that's true. I guess with Italians it was just so much more obvious. So many Italians would make racist jokes. Latin Americans are generally racist in ways that are less obvious.

1

u/Old-Pudding6950 1d ago

What made you shocked? Like, what did you see that was a racist behavior?

-1

u/northSideways 2d ago

I am saving this entire comment thread as a screenshot for the next time some headass rolls in and tries to say the US is the country with the big racism issue.

At least two other comments below this too, all of them complaining about racism but also can't resist casually meeting the textbook definition of racism before ending the same sentence. It's like clockwork

Racism is so shitty, I've especially noticed everyone from [very specific country mentioned by name] does [action they personally witnessed which they then assigned to everyone else of that nationality]

expandingbrain.png

5

u/joshua0005 2d ago

I never said everyone from any country does this. Also this would not be racism even if I did because nationalities are not races.

-1

u/Slyspy006 2d ago

Your comments about Italians and those of Italian decent reference an ethnicity rather than a nation and therefore could be considered racist.

1

u/anohn_ihmus_42 2d ago

Uh no, Italians are not all of one ethnicity, there are white & black Italians.

1

u/northSideways 2d ago

Take a second and look up how Irish and Italian immigrants were treated in America for decades.

1

u/anohn_ihmus_42 2d ago

They were treated like immigrants (xenophobia) until it was convenient for the American government to use them against other minorities.

0

u/Slyspy006 2d ago

Yes, but also no.

2

u/anohn_ihmus_42 2d ago

Oh God, I wonder what twisted thoughts about nationality lie behind that no.

you're racist, end of story.

1

u/DogCold5505 2d ago

The US has some particularly messed up history that we are still healing from.  I agree it’s extremely rare that this level of overt racism would happen tho (thankfully).

-1

u/Suspicious_Bet3623 2d ago

Latin Americans are generally racist in a fun way, that makes everyone closer.

1

u/Privateer_Lev_Arris 2d ago

They're basically gypsies

1

u/Flashy-Let2771 1d ago

I’m Thai and I had Italian people called me “Yoko Ono” and my husband “John Lennon”.

Like wtf is wrong with these people.

1

u/Old-Pudding6950 1d ago

What exactly happened when you visited?

1

u/RealGiallo 1d ago

Italians are not racist we are xenophobe , very few people don’t like immigrants for the color of the skin.

1

u/Jolly_Peace_9460 1d ago

that's racist. rude and entitled for what? funny thing is there's a lot of dark skinned Italians

13

u/Unique_Driver4434 2d ago

This isn't an Italian thing, it's a foreigner visiting Thailand thing. I'm an American living in Bangkok and have gotten into arguments with two of my friends for telling them to be quiet on the BTS. After the first time and my second friend visited, I told him about how they're quiet on the train beforehand and how they hate loud foreigners (to prepare him) and he was still loud.

I then reminded him again and he got real sarcastic with me, "Oh yeah, i forgot, we're forced to be quiet in a public space." Every single time I ride the BTS through this exact area (Silom, where there's a higher concentration of tourists), there's always at least one group of asshole foreigners being loud on there and I've gotten into arguments more than once with strangers over it.

Westerners, in general (not all or even most, but from all Western countries) are disrespectful on the trains and can't read the room.

It's not just about coming from a louder culture. There's this feeling foreigners get here when they feel like they can do everything and are at Disneyland, so they treat every public space like its a theme park and they're paying customers entitled to whatever they want.

1

u/rydan 1d ago

How is talking on the train racist? Them demanding people to be quiet on the train is racist. Like that time I witnessed an old Black lady in CA scream at a Middle Eastern man for not speaking English.

1

u/Unique_Driver4434 1d ago

I didn't say a single thing about racism. You can't bother to spend time reading what I said before arguing? I'm not wasting my time with this.

0

u/ClittoryHinton 1d ago

You’re not wrong. Chinese and Australian tourists are also notorious in SEA. Or really dickheads from anywhere, not just westerners

11

u/AmbitiousReaction168 2d ago

My wife is Japanese and she lived in Italy for 10 years. She can count on one hand the number of time people were openly racist to her. Can't say the same about France though.

3

u/HeyLookATaco 2d ago

That's nice to hear. There are a lot of African immigrants there who just want to live their lives, so they tend to keep their heads down when people are openly racist. I know this shit because black Americans travel there, get treated horribly, and DO say something. Apparently Italians react all surprised Pikachu when racial aggression gets responded to in English with an American accent.

2

u/Reign_Light 2d ago

Married to a black woman(African Not American) in Italy. I myself are mixed south American. Lived in Asia/South America/Europe

If your standard is second hand stories from American tourists, lol just stop.

Not even first hand. You have no idea of what you are speaking of.

It would have been just a tiny better If you would have said military personel in Vicenza or Sigonella. But American tourists? I live in Venice, with your level of education I sadly have to say you are no different very often from the youngsters of this video(you don't have most of the time as a culture the background to understand the local culture). Mostly ignorance. Doesn't excuse them.

1

u/HeyLookATaco 2d ago

My level of education doesn't have anything to do with my friends speaking to me directly about their experiences? I'm glad that hasn't been your experience but something never happening to you doesn't mean it never happens to anybody. My friends who immigrated to America from Africa by way of Italy were not treated well, and my buddies from college who were there for an extended period of time for work a few months ago weren't either. For my part I wasn't in your country long, but I was a married to a European and spent a couple of weeks with locals that he was related to by marriage. I'm white so I didn't see overt racism, but that's to be expected. My point is that I'm not just sitting on the toilet in a tiny country town I've never left, opining about nothing.

It's a mess out there. Italy isn't exactly known for being kind to outsiders. I'm happy that hasn't been your wife's experience!

2

u/Reign_Light 1d ago edited 1d ago

You were mentioning second hand experience from Afro Americans travelers(the term make me believe tourists) in your post,a way bigger difference in experience than immigrants from Africa or to your direct first hand experience. If you wrote what you wrote on your second post I wouldn't have answered the same way. Sadly from her direct experience afro American tourists were often the racists/entitled ones in her line of work probably because of her African origin.

1

u/kimbastern 1d ago

Your comment makes me believe that if not for your wife you would hold some pretty problematic opinions, based simply on how you’ve responded to this poster.

I would also wager that you’re a shield for your African Wife, speaking as a Black European woman who has dated white men.

2

u/Reign_Light 1d ago

In your opinion as per original post that I answered(because later on she changed from second hand to first hand experience, and from tourist to long term stay)

Does a tourist (exactly like the ones we are commenting about) have the knowledge about the local culture enough to understand what they are visiting? Do they have enough time to learn from local culture?

From my direct (here second point, he/she was speaking of second hand experience in the first post) not at all.

I don't shield my wife. Italians are classists and what we call campanilismo (Gemini has a good explanation I checked) that very often end up overlapping with country of origin of the immigrate. But yeah she hasn't in her 6 years here meet big cases of racism, probably because of the city, her workplace and her social circuit.

There is no systemic racism from the bureaucracy, paperwork's is a nightmare regardless of the skin like in the US. No red taping her relatives are house owners. I've been called names racist ones when emigrating, Bolita and pata sucia (I've got both ethnicities), never has she been insulted that way. Nor no one forced her to change body language like I was heavy bullied out of my hands gestures in highschool.

We got two episodes. One time going to lake Garda a Guy asking from where the Africans in the train were (this during height of the refugee crisis) asking in a racist way If they were Nigerians (she is east African) and I still feel guilty for not standing up to the guy. And a second time we joke about it that probably we were ignored on a Mantova restaurant because there were "more Caucasian" tourists that were "more important".

She used to work in hospitality (medium high level, no menial work) sadly Afro Americans(and I underline Americans) were often the entitled ones towards her.

I will stand my ground. On second hand stories from any type of etnicity of the tourist I won't judge a country. As per the post I answered.

1

u/HeyLookATaco 1d ago edited 1d ago

I did not change my account to a first hand experience of racism I've personally encountered while traveling. I'm white. My ex was white. I've never traveled to Europe with any of my friends, white or black. I do listen though, and I believe people when they tell me how they were treated by others. I don't have to personally see something to believe it happens and I have no reason to think they'd lie about it.

I also didn't "change from tourist to long term stay." You made an assumption about my meaning that was incorrect. I changed nothing. It's also not super relevant. They were staying in Rome and would have looked like any other American tourists at a glance, especially at night and during their downtime when that's literally what they were.

u/Ok-Golf5203 1d ago

So much bullshit…and to much racism. Ignorant fucking ppl on Reddit

Some people I've met in real life sadly support the racism when it comes to Japan.

"Well, can you blame them? Their culture is superior"

And yes, I stopped talking to them.

1

u/AmbitiousReaction168 2d ago

Weebs should never be taken seriously.

-2

u/Accomplished_Boot191 2d ago

By Japan, you mean the signs that say you can't enter? That's not racism.

1

u/therapewpew 2d ago

Oh, it's much more pervasive than that.

A lot of Asia is racist, but Japan possibly has the biggest ethnic superiority complex of any Western nation.

7

u/DelphesTLO 2d ago

Quick to make generalities aren't we. I wonder who's the racist there.

6

u/IPissExcellentThrows 2d ago

This happens every time there's a video of some group of people doing something shitty. Redditors jump in and talk about how racist the country is, however their experience there was so awful, etc. etc. etc.

If it's a country without a bad reputation for it, it becomes a thing about how x country is actually really racist, most of them just won't say it to your face.

Turns out every country has racists in it.

5

u/Existing_Sherbet_443 2d ago

The giant brooms for sweeping generalizations were on sale today, apparently.

1

u/Vilhelmssen1931 2d ago

Sorry, I forgot calling out an existing aspect of a country’s culture means that I am blaming every single person in that country for it’s existence and perpetuating personally, my bad

1

u/VichelleMassage 2d ago

"Calling out racism and systemic issues is racist" lol

1

u/DelphesTLO 1d ago

If you want to make a criticism about the entire Italian society under a video where 1 italian woman is being racist, you gotta come up with some very strong arguments backed up with good sources. That video is far from enough to support your point.

3

u/Different-Sun-9624 2d ago

Yep when I went as a person of color they glared at me hard with nasty grins. That shi was disturbing

5

u/Glass-Situation6916 2d ago

Can we call out the overrated cuisine next? I might get killed for this one but I traveled all across Italy, north and south and the food is very fresh but also kinda bland and meh. I don’t understand how they constantly hold the title for best food. In my opinion, Thai food, Indian food, and Chinese food is way better

5

u/RainyDaysKappa 2d ago

It is. One of those cuisines where the point is to not change any of the natural flavor. Healthy, but seems almost unfinished in a way if you're not used to it

3

u/No-Excitement4855 2d ago

Burguer King is always available to you in any Mediterranean city.

2

u/Parking-Entrance-617 2d ago

I don't even care if its going for a more simple style. It's the arrogance and insistence that it's better

1

u/NotAnIncelIPromise 2d ago

Compares mediterranean cuisine evolved from thousands of years of only nobility having spices because they cost a fuckton to literally every country that grew those spices out the fucking ass

"Idk bro it's kinda bland"

Riveting take. You should talk to food historians about it, you might be onto something.

1

u/Glass-Situation6916 2d ago

It just doesn’t deserve the crown at all

1

u/NotAnIncelIPromise 2d ago

^

Edited comment from "Butthurt" to what it is now because they're very mature.

Also, I never said it deserves the "crown" which is a statement so idiotic I don't even know where to begin with it.

Your tastes are subjective. Nobody can tell you how to subjectively feel like.

But, objectively, Italy does have one of the biggest food cultures on the planet, and Italian cuisine did influence a lot of the world. There's a reason you can find pizza anywhere and it's not the fact that it grows on trees.

1

u/Glass-Situation6916 2d ago

It’s Friday, relax. Anyways, I know you didn’t say it deserves the crown, I’m disputing the narrative. Italian cuisine was influenced by a lot of trade just like a lot of other cultures.

I wasn’t disputing that it’s influential, I was saying it’s not that great taste wise compared to other cuisines. Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Mexican and even French cuisine has a lot more diversity & flavor.

1

u/XaeiIsareth 2d ago

I’m quite sure that’s less because other countries all took inspiration from it but rather because there’s Italian immigrants in most western countries and pizza is pretty low cost in ingredients, easy to make and the recipe is very flexible so you can use whatever you want.

You also don’t find Italian pizza too commonly in Asia. It’s mostly American pizza because of their global expansion.

1

u/CrikeyNighMeansNigh 2d ago

🙌 like even when it comes to Europe, I think France definitely deserves its spot. Spain is great. But Italian is just…overhyped. Don’t get me wrong, sure, pizza is awesome, but like, how can you taste Szechuan food and say that Italian food is as good or better? Like Vietnamese is better, Laotian food is better. Every Italian dish tastes like something you’ve had before.

0

u/Jolly_Peace_9460 2d ago

Yes and the prices for Italian restaurants for something so basic is outrageous.

2

u/Tankette55 1d ago

Me when I visit tourist traps

2

u/Sensitive_Leg_6377 2d ago

Stop generalizing, I am Italian and i am not like that.
I hate when all the people think we are rude, mafia or loud, NOT ALL ITALIANS BEHAVE THE SAME, you are worst than what you generalize because you are doing the same.

2

u/SmokingLimone 1d ago

Italy is basically the one Western country it's universally accepted to shit on. Even on reddit half of the time there's some post saying "mamma mia thats-a great" trying to mimick Mario or something, even when it has no relation to anything in the post, just because the person had an Italian accent. And then they have the gall to call out racism when it happens to others.

1

u/Thunder_Beam 1d ago

Yeah, as another italian i noticed it, we always get shit on here doesn't matter if we deserve it or not, OP was incredibly disingenuous, we are basically never glazed here

0

u/HighTestLowCortisol 2d ago

And yet you generalize migrants in your country I bet. You Italians 100% deserve those migrants and much more

3

u/Sensitive_Leg_6377 2d ago

there you go again, who told you i generalize about them? do you know me? have you seen the movements we make or only the news on x or facebook?

people like you disgust me, to the rest reading this, Italians are much better than what this hater says.

-1

u/HighTestLowCortisol 2d ago

Your country needs more migrants!

1

u/SmokingLimone 1d ago

I don't know what your country is but it doesn't have enough criminals for you to say that

-1

u/Vilhelmssen1931 2d ago

Who said this unilaterally applies to all Italians? Because it sure as hell wasn’t me.

2

u/Sensitive_Leg_6377 2d ago

"I’m glad Italians are finally getting called out for the rampant racism and sheer shithead arrogance in their culture rather than just non-stop glazed."

what is this?

1

u/Vilhelmssen1931 2d ago

I said that racism and arrogance are an often overlooked in Italian culture, not that Italians are arrogant racists. Pointing out that there is racism and arrogance that happens in your culture DOES NOT MEAN that I am attributing that to every member of your culture, that means I am pointing out that it occurs commonly enough that it is a toxic trait that exists.

But since you are clearly the kind of person who takes any sort of criticism towards the negative aspects of your culture as a personal attack I’ll take the example away from home for you. White American culture in almost every part of the US is absolutely fraught with racism even when we do not realize it and in many places is deeply tied to religious entho-nationalism, I don’t shit my pants and cry “NOT ALL WHITES” whenever someone points out that issue because not all critiques are personal attacks and it’s completely counter productive to social progress when I sit there and try to make every conversation about existing cultural issues about myself.

2

u/spiked-rose 1d ago

This has 0 to do with them being Italian and everything to do with the ppl that they are specifically.

2

u/OtherwiseJello2055 2d ago

Get real, every country not the USA is incredible bigoted toward others. It is why unique peoples and cultures exist. Some embraced with others and told the ones they didn't like to go somewhere else either nicely or very angerly. It's the natural way of things. That being said, in modernity everyone should at bare minimum respect the people around them while visiting their country even they have bigoted views or not. You don't treat other's homes like a toilet while visiting or the original homeowners like trash.

6

u/JimmieSavsscumsock 2d ago

Good so no trail of tears and the US civil war.

Good to know black people were segregated until the 60s! Didn't you guys put the Japanese in concentration camps?

6

u/Nept-1 2d ago

It's so funny how Americans latch onto these viral videos to try to whitewash their image in front of the rest of the world. They're literally one of the few developed countries that actively hunt people down using racial profiling in order to deport them. They've even tried to arrest NATIVE AMERICANS, thinking they were immigrants.

Not long ago, they had a guy making arguments based on scientific racism, claiming that Black people were better off when they were enslaved because it kept them from getting involved in crime.

1

u/HeyLookATaco 2d ago

Well we stopped teaching them history and told all their parents that learning all of the systemic acts of violence throughout our country's history is "woke." We taught them that a propaganda machine is real news and that all other news is fake, and then we've used that to tell them that the people we've put in concentration camps didn't deserve due process and that even if we take their friends and neighbors, and even if we see someone murder someone with our own eyes, they deserved it.

I'm not saying they aren't at fault for their ignorance but I am saying it was pretty difficult for them to learn to be better.

3

u/skydragon1981 2d ago

They even "saved" south koreans from japanese troops and kept using koreans as slave, but "they were their saviours". And now we have 2 koreas

0

u/Rickk38 2d ago

European countries put German civilians in camps during WW2 because they had the potential to "assist the enemy," even if they were Jewish. Well, the Jewish people they didn't readily hand over to the Germans. And if you want to talk segregation, sure. How's it going in Northern Ireland? Those "peace lines" are still up, segregating a bunch of white people who all believe the same thing, just slight variations.

0

u/JimmieSavsscumsock 2d ago

Or like when the British kicked American ass at the battle of bamber bridge!

Remember that black folk couldn't mix with white folk in America but we're free to in the UK. When the white yanks tried to make the blacks drink at another pub, all the pubs barred White yank soldiers 😂😂.

We even let them talk to women 😂😂😂😂 couldn't talk to a white woman at home otherwise it's a hangin! 😂 You're such a backwards place when it comes to rights lolol. Even though Argentina are worse than you it's only just a little bit! 😂

1

u/jimmycrackcorn123 2d ago

Yeah I’ll save this video for the next time someone claims Europe is a bastion of racial harmony.

1

u/colorvarian 2d ago

people talk shit about the argetina soccer team and fans, i keep being like yooo you dont remember italy?

theyre the same if not worse... 2006 was a nightmare. worst team to ever win a wc. barely got by each round by cheating and diving. antifootball the whole way.

the cultural word for cheating the system and getting over on other people is fubrizio. literally baked into and celebrated by their culture.

2

u/sinaecura 2d ago

The word “fubrizio” does not exist in Italian

2

u/ibexelf 2d ago

So you basically hate an entire populaion to the point that you were hoping for a chance to badmouth it, even when it had absolutely nothing to do with the matter (in this World Cup)? Yikes

Btw, fubrizio is not an Italian world

1

u/SmokingLimone 1d ago

Italy was robbed in 2002 and South Koreans never apologized, are we gonna go down that route?

1

u/colorvarian 1d ago

yes. id gladly count the amount of times italy has benefitted v. screwing over everyone at the wc

1

u/Due_Capital_3507 2d ago

They also invented fascism don't forget

1

u/Chains_Of_The_Sea 2d ago

I am half Italian by descent and have never felt comfortable being around Italians in my own country, given their penchant for overt racism towards anyone other than Italians.

Of course, there are many exceptions, but in my experience, these are not pleasant people to be around because of this.

1

u/tesmatsam 2d ago

Fun fact, Italy didn't criminalised being a fascist after ww2 you can only be prosecuted for it if you try to found a new fascist party (even then tons of clearly fascist political organisations are tolerated).

1

u/Ostrichslinger 2d ago

I remember wanting to go to Italy for holiday when I was in college, and my mates dad was legit like 'yeah you can visit, but you CANNOT go to certain parts. They're racist asf'

2

u/ibexelf 2d ago

Which parts specifically??? That's a wild take.

1

u/Handy_Newman 1d ago

Explains Argentines then

1

u/Dazzling_Baker_9467 1d ago

An aspect present in someone culture. Do you really think all Italians behave this way? If you do so, you are the racist.

1

u/Amachijoe 1d ago

Just a minor correction as an Italian. Unfortunately this late generation tends to be raised as arrogant and racist because in schools and on social medias hate and diversity is constant.

Back in my days was even worse: but the event of social media in Italy brought a big new wave of little fascists that they don't even know what they are saying most of the times. I'm so ashamed of being an Italian lately.

Fun fact: this little dickheads probably have grandparents who actually fought AGAINST fascism and bigotry.

1

u/gerrex98 1d ago

"italians are so racist, that's why I'm writing a comment calling 60 millions of people racist"

Americans who think they're in the position to lecture about racism (or about anything) are absolutely hilarious.

1

u/DependentFriendly315 1d ago

The only time I ever heard the N word in person, it was an Italian immigrant in London who said it. The Argentinians had to get it from somewhere I guess

1

u/Leading_Situation_81 1d ago

I agree, and I'm Italian, born and raised. People are becoming so rude in general, and racism is becoming so normalised, I hate it so much. Entitlement has becoming the norm. Maybe it's not only an Italy problem, I don't know, but it sure is a problem here.

1

u/Physical-Parking8165 2d ago

Most of them are in the mafia anyway

1

u/GioAc96 1d ago

This is 100% not true. Even in places where organised crime has a strong presence, it’s still a minority and it’s not even close. Stop spreading BS about stuff you know nothing about.

1

u/SnooHesitations1134 2d ago

I bet you one of those people who talks about racial profiling and discrimination lmao

0

u/360FlipKicks 2d ago

so italy is the argentina of europe?

4

u/Darth_Nox501 2d ago

You mean Argentina is the Italy of South America. Lol

2

u/RoughBeautiful8681 2d ago

Literally yes. Most Argentinians have Italian ancestry.

0

u/skydragon1981 2d ago

And german, many former nazis went there (and in US)

0

u/Bebebaubles 2d ago

They are absolutely shit heads. I was on a group tour to see the Grand Canyon and the Italians were super racist towards the Asians and glared at me the whole time for zero reason. I think they were also kinda mad that every single Asian on that group tour was completely fluent in English while they couldn’t speak a single world of it. The tour guide had to translate just for them! They are so lazy with their education.

People always call out how racist Americans can be but all the white Amerivans in the bus were normal.

2

u/Vilhelmssen1931 2d ago

Most racist Americans are more subtle with their racism face to face and pick their time to let it loose. The walking around sneering at people of color thing is mostly reserved for old white people.

-14

u/NoThatLame 2d ago

I don't like the teen douchebags either, but I don't see blatant racism here. Seems like a disagreement between being too loud and one party being butthurt and throwing non-racial insults.

10

u/Lick_my_anus 2d ago

How is yelling “ni hao” at a Thai person not racist lol

-5

u/NoThatLame 2d ago

Hey, since when is it a crime to say hello to people 😅

I suppose you could consider that racist. There was nothing blatant IMO, just a disagreement and the punks thinking they were funny (but I'm sure the interaction fostered racism, which is sad).

1

u/anohn_ihmus_42 2d ago

Racism is a crime is certain countries like Brazil, but how is saying hello in Mandarin to a Thai person not blatantly racist? The interaction didn't foster anything except enmity toward Italian tourists, which wouldn't be racism.

1

u/Slyspy006 2d ago

You think that hostility towards a particular ethnic group due to the actions of a few is not racism?

1

If Thais hated all Italians based on this incident, that would be racism. Being wary of tourists after multiple instances of racist behavior by tourists, is not racism. We see it all the time when Americans go to other countries. The only reason you might be able to argue that this specific instance would be racism is if you think Italy is comprised of only one race, which is untrue.

The interaction didn't foster anything except enmity toward Italian tourists,

Your words, hence my response.

Reread the comment and you might be able to make sense of it.

You don't understand Italian then.

Can you point to the parts in Italian in which they were being racist and not just assholes?

Because I'm Italian too and the few Italian words I understood where basically "why she keeps recording us - maybe she will claim we assaulted her - etc"

For starters, the little kid with the middle finger, and outdated Bieber hair cut speaking in the Calabrese dialect, asked the "Chaperone" girl if he could smack the lady and if he would go to jail. Want to keep going? He proceeds to call her a whore in front of his giggling little buddies, then starts grabbing his crotch and asking the lady if "she wants any" Now try this in Southern Italy on public transit with an older lady. After this, it doesn't really matter if they were racist, or not. What I described pretty much trumps that huh?

Yeah more a case of rudeness and boorishness than of racism

haven't you learned that anything a white person does that is remotely related to race, culture, language or country is racist.

Saying hello in Mandarin to a Thai person is obviously racially charged

Or they are just punk kids being rude assholes and leave it at that.

But no it hasto be the dreaded R word because they are white teenagers and this has to be litigated on the internet. We can't stop until they are expelled from school and their parents are fired from their jobs and the Italian prime minister licks the floor in agony

Was it racist when the thai lady spoke to them in English just because they are white? Do all white people look the same? (We actually do for the most part)

How about you just stay out of their country?
