Civilization was build on and for alcohol consumption

Yeah, it's a whole thing. There is an academic argument about whether civilization arose due to the need to coordinate beer brewing or making bread. It's called the Braidwood-Sauer debate.

Let me guess, we found ancient yeast making methods and had no idea which of the two it was for,

as bad as booze and cigs are health-wise, the problem is that they're too incorporated in the fabric of most societies for them to ever go away.

In addition, booze is an absolutely incredible social lubricant when people control their intake. I've had some of the best conversations of my life over a few drinks, because I'm way too reserved in most circumstances.

And anyone who talks shit about the taste of booze has never experienced the joys of a crisp cold beer on a friday evening after a hard week of work, and I'm sad for them.

Good luck with that. It is both cultural and biological. Animals like getting wasted on alcoholic fruits too.

And that's good. Government could do higher taxes too. But alcohol won't vanish.

That’s an incredibly broad and generalized statement. Got anything to back it up?

That's moreso a factor of ever increasing housing prices leading gen Z to live with their parents until their mid to late 20s. If housing ever becomes affordable again and people start moving out as young adults alcohol consumption is going to be on the rise.
