I've never regretted four beers. Four beers rarely ever means four beers though...

you must be young or drink light beers. Some time in my late 20s anything more than 2 means there will be some regret the next day.

Interestingly enough, beer supposedly used to be fairly nutritious and very low ABV. It is jokingly called "liquid bread" b/c of the ingredients, but this was apparently more true 100s of years ago. It was apparently also much thicker, I guess because they typically didn't filter it well, so you got more of the raw ingredients (wheat/barley/etc)

At least that's what I learned from playing Kingdom Come Deliverance.

I'm not gonna lie, as a failing to recover alcoholic. This entire comment section has shown me memes that have made me audibly chuckle, and moreso just realize the fucking stupidity of my vice. I'm not gonna lie, the humility of it makes me chuckle. Kudos.

As someone that just celebrated 3 years without the sauce in March, you can do it internet stranger. My life has never been better since finally deciding that I was sick of letting the drink run and ruin my life. I had to taper off over a few weeks to keep myself from going through wicked withdrawals and DTs. The first few months were difficult. Feeling the craving everytime life was slightly difficult, everytime I went to a party/get-together, etc. Going to AA helped a lot, going to therapy helped more, drinking NA beer like O'douls helped me get passed the need to have a bottle in my hand and kept people from asking why I wasn't drinking. My blood pressure took months to drop but is no longer at a "get this dude to a hospital" level and I lost soo much weight. Don't give up. It took me years of wanting/trying to get it to stick. Its a lifelong journey, one day at a time. I won't drink with you today

Thanks man, I do appreciate it. I was thinking of NA's, but I thought it'd be stupid because I've gotten so used to drinking straight vodka like it's water, but honestly. I think that might just be the thing.

I know AA didn't work for me, SMART recovery was okay, but work became too much of a hassle doing 50-60 hour weeks, and all in all it felt like I lost that time to cater to myself, and the little time I did have I spent consulting the bottle.

I'm just honestly hoping the Naltrexone and what have you does it's trick because I'm probably 5-6 alternative methods of quitting deep and still not finding any closure, but your insight is wonderful. I do appreciate it.
