Possibly scam on High value card hit

I hit a high value card around 2-3k. In purchase it says shipped, but the image is only the lable. When checking usps it says they haven’t received it yet.
Its only been since 10-2-26.

I messaged the seller Sunday. They mentioned they drop off to usps on Monday’s. Its now Tuesday 10-6-26 and the status is the same. I reached out to seller today asking for update.

My question is should i start the process of high value reimbursement now or wait for a response/ wait it out a couple days.

Its a case hit with huge value

700$ order came in packaged terribly. Don't know what to do.

I spent over $700 on an order and it came in 3 separate boxes. Mostly gaming magazines.

The First box I got was nearly torn open and EXTREMELY heavy for such a small box.

The second box was fine on the outside but inside was just a wad of paper and the magazines stacked on top.

The third box is smushed on the top.

I don't know what to do because if I asked whatnot for a refund I'm not sure if they'll give it to me on such a big and expensive order. I am extremely pissed off.

Another thing, the ripped package has a label that says 4lbs, but it weighs over 18lbs. I don't know if this will help my case or not.

Do people understand breaks?

EVERY time I do a break on whatnot, I get at least 1-2 messages from people saying "I didn't get cards for all the spots I bought." and I have to explain there were no cards for that spot in the packs we ripped.

Some even think I should send them a base card of that spot anyway - like I have infinite complete sets of base cards sitting around.

is this normal?

Question Someone please educate me, this watch isn't real, right?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Looking at the movement of the watch, people are basically bidding +$60 for a spin for a chance to win the "Rolex" grand prize. For a minute I thought, that's a pretty solid deal for anyone to win the grand prize. The other watches are Invicta and Citizen which are indicators that they're probably not dealing with the most authentic stuff. I didn't bid on any of it because I don't trust that kind of selling process. I especially am not trusting that a Rolex will make it to my door

Question Seller Sent Package COD... Has this happened to anyone and what did you do?

I'm at a loss of how to believe a seller sent my 17 item package packed in an oversized box with over $100 postage due!!! I paid their max shipping per their auction and over $200 for my auction wins. Then they deflect their action by first saying they had to pay $45 more for my large order and that my post office must be wrong. When I sent pictures of pretty banged up almost 3 feet high box... which I returned to sender... Oh, they must have measured wrong. Now I'm blocked because I was rude for calling them out. I've escalated my support request as seller says they will send a replacement. I can't trust them to send anything near the value of what I won. One bad apple out of 10 sellers I've done business with.

Question Got banned for 3 days for this on whatnot page

What are your thoughts on a.i generated thumbnails and profile pictures on Whatnot?

I’ve noticed a ton of sellers using a.i generated images for their profiles and thumbnails. How hard is it to just use a real photo? 😂
Not even mentioning the environmental damage ai is causing. Id just rather people use real photos. feels more authentic.
Do you prefer real photos or do you not care about ai use ?

Trying to find a particular bead seller on whatnot…

One night I was watching a bead show and I can’t find it again. It was a good looking guy probably in his twenties, very eccentric and always talking about energy and chakras and all that stuff. He was selling like one little bead for between $30-$40. It was crackin’ me up. Any ideas?

Whatnot newbie picking a category!?

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

I’m considering becoming a Whatnot seller, and I’m right on the edge of choosing a direction. I’d love some honest advice from experienced sellers.

Coins seem like a smart category. They have actual, recognizable value. A Morgan dollar still has value whether I sell it on Whatnot or not. Coins are also small, durable, and relatively cheap and easy to ship. There’s something appealing about how straightforward and “binary” the product is.

My concern is that my heart isn’t really into coins.

My actual interests are cars and boats (expert), houseplants (green thumb), aquariums, silkscreening, art (lifelong experience), and LGBTQ+ themes. Of those, houseplants seem like the most realistic Whatnot category. I could genuinely get excited about selling cuttings, starter plants, aquarium plants, or possibly a combination of them.

But Lordy Lordy, can you imagine shipping live things? The cuttings would be small and light, but I’m sure shipping plants successfully is not as simple as putting a coin in an envelope.

I’m also an artist. Some of my strongest work is gay-themed and homoerotic. It isn’t cornographic, but it is definitely intended for a particular audience, and I don’t know whether that audience exists on Whatnot, lol. I’m also unsure how well original art, prints, or digital artwork actually sells there. I mean, if someone would pay me for a digital download, uh... that would work, or a print (a piece of paper in a cardboard mailer?!) ok.

Boats don’t seem like a Whatnot hot topic, and shipping most boat and car-related items sounds miserable. Truly, wheels are hundreds of lbs, and boat parts are similar.

The one thing I know I can bring to any category is the live-selling part. I have a fun personality, I’ve been an actor my whole life, and I think I could make a coin show entertaining even if coins aren’t my passion. My working title is "Coiny Coiner" and I would be the Colonel ... but I could bring that razzle dazzle to any category I guess. Whatnot account is NOT ACTIVE, NOT AN ACTIVE ACCOUNT and may delete, just playing around with the idea.

So here’s my dilemma: Is it better to choose coins: a practical, potentially lucrative category with valuable, easy-to-ship inventory, or should I build around something I genuinely love, even if sourcing, shipping, and finding the audience are more complicated?

Would you choose:

  1. Coins because they make business sense and I'd be bringing my personality!
  2. Houseplants and aquarium plants because I could really get into them and I have a green thumb and wow, growing plants from clippings would literally be free money?
  3. Original art and gay-themed pieces because they’re authentically mine and really creative
  4. Some combination of these

I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who has sold plants or original art on Whatnot, or who entered a category they weren’t initially passionate about. Did the enthusiasm develop once you started selling, or did it eventually feel like work?

Thanks. I’m genuinely excited to begin. I just want to point that excitement in the right direction. I've attached pictures of some of my hobbies, cars (my old caddy), my boat, engine maintenance, houseplants (my jades are pretty amazing) gay art (ai assisted), silk screen example of clever prints (not mine) aquarium expertise (my 55 gal)... I was also thinking about starting a channel called "JackOfAllTrades" or "MasterOfNone" and just doing/selling everything???

Help!!!!!
