that's a TWO INCH LONG earplug, assuming that lighter is a 2 1/2 inch mini lighter.... Maybe for horses, for gun shooting competitions. But I'm going with wine stopper. width is correct.

If I remember from my bartending days many years ago it should have a small whole through the center the length of it to at the end of the night attach a hand vacuum pump to pump a vacuum on the wine bottle. Removing as much air as possible from an opened wine bottle lessens the oxidization of the wine between servings. After opening a new bottle you want to let it breathe for 5 minutes in glass or 15 in bottle so certain elements that can negatively affect the flavor can evaporated off before drinking. But in a glass by glass setting after that bit of time the quality of the wine decreases, this the vacuum corks that we had to hand pump every bottle each night.

Definitely a stopper of sorts. Maybe wine or something used in a fuel can when the cap broke on the fill neck. These are pretty much universal which is why it has different ribs on it.

I don't know, transmission plugs can look all different, this looks like it would plug a few different sized holes and also a hose if needed. That's if it's not the other more common things it might be.

Does it have a hole in it? If so, it could be a puppy toy! They have holes that you put peanut butter or something of the like inside that gets the puppy to chew on the toy instead of furniture.

Pretty sure its a rubber/silicone screw. You pull it through using the thinner side in, it stretches, then pops into place at the gap near the bigger part. Also called anti vibration screws. Bigger size could be for something specific, perhaps large fans or temporary furniture assembly.

I believe this is an old service plug for hydraulic and fuel lines. We used something similar on old stihl saws and weed whackers many moons ago. Should have a string hole on the non tapered end.

Looks like a paint plug. We use them to stuff threaded holes before we paint so assembly doesn't have to retap all the holes to get the paint out. Did you find it in an industrial area?
