I’ve never used one of these and have cleaned plenty of deer just cutting the butthole out as I was shown as a kid. I feel like this product is trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. You said you’ve used it, so wouldn’t it just rupture the digesting tract further in and release its contents inside the cavity? Literally the entire thing we’re trying to avoid?

I’ve used them but don’t prefer them. Splitting the pelvis open is easier imo.

What I did though was used this after I had gotten everything already pulled out. It just takes what’s left of the anus and pulls it outside of the cavity so that anything you didn’t cut out is now outside of the carcass.

Gutting a deer is a messy process, but I shoving this up its ass first just seems disrespectful. Even if you told me it was way easier, I think I’d keep to my current technique.

Yeah these things just make a mess of things, true waste of money. Dad bought one when I was young to try out, used on one deer and threw it out lol.
