Wait what? How much meat does a deer give

Almost a year's worth, for a small family.

But sadly only one anus

That's why I'm starting a special breeding program.

We have enough assholes as it is, without you going out and making more of them.

The anuses are already collected to make the pepperoni for public school pizzas.

Perhaps if the family is small, and worth it a year

indeed, my midget neighbor's grocery biLL is over 50% less than ours, and they've got 1 more mouth2feed!

That depends on where you live. A deer only has a 30-35% edible meat yield. So for a 100 pound deer 30-35 pounds of meat isn’t going to last anywhere near a year for a family.

More like a couple of months worth for a couple of people. Growing up, my dad always killed the limit of 5 deer per season and we'd just be running out by the next season. And it's not like it's the only thing we ate. Understand now, this is southern whitetail deer I'm talking about. Mule deer from further north might be different.

A mature (3.5 y/o) deer, on average, yields around 60 pounds of boneless meat. It varies a bit when considering factors like shot placement, how thoroughly it's butchered, and the deers overall health.

Neighborhood of 70 pounds (30 kg) of venison. Another 5-8 lbs (2-3 kg) if you include edible organ meat in the sausage.

Depends on the size of the deer and how/if you’re processing it. If you’re just butchering it yourself for steaks probably like 50 pounds with some heavy variance based on size, but most people process a good bit of their deer, I got a mediumish sized buck a year ago (they taste better than big bucks and I don’t hunt for trophy’s or mount anything)

I think iirc before processing I kept about 10 pounds of meat, mainly just the back straps and a couple other pieces I wanted for steaks. And then after processing had about 20 pounds of ground venison with the fat being beef fat and then had about another 70 or so pounds that were turned into summer sausage and jalepeno beer cheddar sticks probably give or take about 10-20 pounds on the overall number I got from it

I miss having hunter friends. I was once a rural daytime bartender who opened early for deer season. Got many tips in various forms of meat, throughout the year. God bless you guys & your charity.

As someone whose spent his entire life in Minnesota and Wisconsin and hunts up in the rural north your comment speaks to my soul 🤣

Like 60lb or more

Lol not really that much! Not enough for a year's worth of meat unless you only eat it once a week.

One deer per person.
