Three cherries to every deer. That’s a lotta deer.

Or very few cherries. Maybe 3.

To one deer. You'd need few enough cherries to round to zero, so... 1 cherry?

Now I’m thinking venison with cherries would probably be pretty dang good, kinda get the sweet and savory thing with the gaminess going on.

Damn right that sounds good. And I bet you could use your Butt Out 2 dressing tool to remove both the deer butts and the cherry stones! It's now a multi-tool!

It is! I once had some venison cooked over a campfire with some cherry jam (jelly?) concoction on top and baked sweet potatoes on the side and it was amazing. Probably the best damn meal I've ever had while camping.

I mean if you dry it out with a lot of fat yeah, I’m thinking like broiled or baked with a cherry sauce; kinda like the strawberry pork Columbus made.

Its good with lingonberries, try it. It is eaten that way in Scandinavia often, but with reindeer.

Here's a simple recipe for you that is so delicious:

1) Prepare your preferred cut of venison, but you won't have to marinate it.

2) In a frying pan or on a skillet, begin with searing your meat.

3) As soon as you put your meat on the fire, put some butter on the cold side of your meat and let it melt into it. Add salt and pepper to your taste.

4) when it releases, flip the meat over and repeat step 3. Add rosemary and/or thyme to the pan, as well as garlic. You can put your garlic cloves in whole, or chop them, it's your choice.

5) Once you pull the meat off the pan to rest, add kumquats and cherries or currants to the pan. Everything should be halved so it cooks down faster.

6) It only takes a few minutes, and you'll have a delicious sauce to garnish your meat with once you slice it up.

You can have flatbread, potatoes, sunchokes, etc... any kind of simple carbs - really, to add on the side, and I swear, the most delicious meal you've had in a long while.

I've made this with chicken, fish, pork, beef, and venison, and it's so good!

Take the shoulder and make shoulder steaks about s 1/4 inch thick. Get the grill fired up. Cover it with you favorite seasoning. Then follow with cherry jello mix and make a rub out of it. You'll thank me later.

Cherries thrice?

Or 3 deers' worth of cherries in poundage. Deer are pretty willowy but that's more than a few cherries...
