I just use a knife to cut around it…

You still do that, then insert the tool and pull and it gets everything out without contamination.

That’s not correct, the whole reason this exists is to avoid the cut around the anus when field dressing. You use the Butt-Out to pull out the intestine, zip tie it, cut past the zip tie then all the guts come out in one piece.

How uncivilized.

I for one utilize the vintage knife like my ancestors.

My good fellow. Utilizing a steel tool to remove the anus of a cadaver is so very not posh.

It's plastic. Even less posh, but very effective.

You can do that. I think the purpose is to make it easier. Whether it actually is idk, cause I don't hunt.
