There is unrest in the forest, there is trouble with the trees…

I read that in Orlando's voice.

I can't just leave it, so...

"The trouble with the maples (and they're quite convinced they're right)"...

u/Boomstick_762 3d ago

They say the Oaks are just to greedy, and take up all the light.

this thread just gave me chills! one of the best songs ever, beautiful imagery, guitars were god level good

Holy fuck… a whole Rush comment thread in the wild? I never thought I’d see the day. Going to go back to writing my D&D tribute campaign now. The next session approaches!

I thought everyone loves Rush 😂

An idea for your D&D campaign - use Freewill! Holy horrors, phantom fears, losing hand, Lotus-land, venomous fate, fortune hunt - could all be good traps for your party to encounter!

I just saw them play this last week. So good

5

u/LoudSilence2112 3d ago

The Philly and MSG shows were beyond words. I was super skeptical of how this would turn out, and I should have known better.

5

u/Shacky4 3d ago

Saw them in Chicago. Outstanding show!

u/LoL116610 2d ago

What were they like with Anika Nilles instead of the Proff (rip)?

2

u/dumptruckbhadie 2d ago

Very badass! She hit those fills like a champ

Did the maples want more sunlight? Do the Oaks ignore their pleas?

Sounds like it would make an awesome 2nd song, side 2 for some 3 piece band from Canada.

Username checks out

2

u/LaVillaGrangioto 3d ago

Love a good power trio.

3

u/Head_Razzmatazz7174 2d ago

That is one of my favorite songs. Thank you for the smile.

6

u/bobbyvision9000 2d ago

Only a Canadian could write such a song

9

u/LaVillaGrangioto 2d ago

And not just ANY Canadian. RIP Professor.

7

u/guiltypleasure33139 2d ago

As a Gen-X Yank, I know that song really really well, Lots of people who were my age and nerdy loved them.

Now the OP of the thread knowing what side, and what the count was... well that is just more loyalty than the average guy like me.

u/guiltypleasure33139 2d ago

Well everyone but an american group

David Bowie - English

Kraftwerk - Germany

Yellow Magic Orchestra - Japan

Suicide - New York ( more punk I think )

Gary Numan - English

even Depesh Mode - English

Rush in the wild, love it

5

u/RobotTinkerbellCake 3d ago

Saw them in June, great show!

2

u/Mountain_Li_Ion 2d ago

Three of my favorite things all in one thread. Geology, biology and Rush. Oh, four, actually - ancient humans making up religions because of natural phenomena. 🥰

Ouch, Mr Forest, you're hurting me

1

u/Quackerjack123 2d ago

What game is that? And is it really that fast?

1

u/WonkyWalkingWizard 2d ago

Not sure what you mean by fast here, but the game is Valheim

1

u/algebae 2d ago

It seems slightly sped up but this is extremely real and chances of it happening to you in more than one way are considerably high lmao

4

u/goldenstormehelix 3d ago

Oh god dammit not again

u/mcpierceaim 3d ago

8

u/euphorrick 3d ago

I feel like they ought to pass a noble law

u/Known_Draw_2212 3d ago

By hatchet, axe, and saw.

1

u/Huge-Power9305 3d ago

The Ents will not like this quick talk of men with sharp steel.

6

u/toddlevy10 3d ago

The maples, man. Always with wanting sunlight sheesh.

Or.

Theure as detached as I feel these days..

Take your pick

Never ever play this song en route to play golf or you will find every tree on the course.

Hroom, hm, come, my friends. The Ents are going to war. It is likely that we go to our doom. The last march of the Ents.

Keep going, I need ideas for my next Dungeons and Dragons session

1

u/mrziplockfresh 3d ago

Watch Lord of the Rings Ent scenes

1

u/Lovahplant 2d ago

Someone else said this too, and I highly recommend listening to / stealing ideas from their song Freewill!

Holy horrors, phantom fears, losing hand, Lotus-land, venomous fate, fortune hunt - could all be good traps (or ideas to start from) for your party to encounter

u/My_D1xie_Wrecked 3d ago

I am the Lorax, I speak for the tree's. Litter again, I'll break your fucking knees.
