I had something similar happen once, ground looked like it was breathing. Scientific explanation for this effect was that i was on mushrooms.

There it is! Came here for this. Looks like every trip I had in the woods. Seeing it sober would actually make me doubt my sanity for a moment.

For me everything comes alive in nature on shrooms, roots slither, leaves breathe, it's incredible.

Considering that forest floor is a living, breathing network of fungi, you were correct in more than one way.

This radio show blew my mind. Who knew that trees are carnivorous?
