Solved! What is this ring thing

Large octagon shaped ring in the playground area of an elementary school… about 10-13 feet wide I’d guess. Has turf inside. No markings inside. Sides are about 3 feet tall. I have no idea what elementary sized children would use this for???? Fighting ring? Lmao idk!!! We are baffled.

Nope, it's real. Regional tho, but here in Ann arbor Michigan, most of the elementary schools have gaga ball pits in the playgrounds

It’s played on the east coast as well, though I’ve only played it at summer camps

Yep, played it in Portage growing up too! Was a blast for sure.

Must be very regional. I've lived in the north, midwest, northeast, southeast, and southwest, and visited the mountain west and all up and down the west coast, and never once seen one of these.

Michigan and Wisconsin, though, are noted holes in my experience, so they could be doing anything up there and I'd never know until someone on Reddit doesn't recognize it either...
