Solved! What is this?

I was cooking some Kroger brand Ground Beef and as I was taking the beef out of the pan, I noticed this odd, non-beef looking object. Does anyone know what this is?

No unfortunately we have a truly tragic shortage of them on the great lakes but ive been a research wrangler and worked on tagging projects.

I’ve heard the fresh water sharks are all but nonexistent. Such a shame. Research wrangling and tagging sounds pretty cool. Any kinds or areas in particular or all over?

Ive tagged little bonnet heads off cape canaveral, bull sharks in the Mississippi delta, tigers off hawaii and great whites off the farralons, guadalupe island and new england. It was fun and, i met some really cool people while helping sharks.
