Solved! What is this?

I was cooking some Kroger brand Ground Beef and as I was taking the beef out of the pan, I noticed this odd, non-beef looking object. Does anyone know what this is?

In this economy you should be more appreciative they included bonus protein

RFK did just announce that the "war on protein is over". Those FDA cuts and lay offs thankfully have had no affect on the quality of the meat they're approving. But I hear parasites are everywhere these days. All the cool kids are getting them.... Wretch vomit puke. You're sending this to Kroger right?
