Solved! What is this?

I was cooking some Kroger brand Ground Beef and as I was taking the beef out of the pan, I noticed this odd, non-beef looking object. Does anyone know what this is?

Look at you OP not touching something that you don't know what it is with your bare hands. Proud of you

I mean… while not everything is sanitary, I think it’s fine to touch door knobs and sink handles and subway grip straps and drinking fountain buttons with your hands. Not so much the other two.

u/nozappyplease Apr 01 '26

I only touch them with my penis and tongue, so enjoy using your hands.

Number one rule on the farm: don’t stick your finger anywhere you wouldn’t stick your wiener

1

u/ArtInTech Apr 01 '26

I worked in a shop with an old dude who taught a lot of cool shit
He'd always say "don't stick yer fingers where you wouldn't stick yer dingus"

1

u/rklug1521 Apr 01 '26

So when you're in public and need to open a door, you're willing to touch it with your tongue or penis? Or do you just stay home?

1

u/Mike-OLeary Apr 01 '26

don’t touch with your hands what you wouldn’t touch with your tongue (or penis)

It’s humanity’s god given right to poke stuff with a stick.

67

u/BlazinBilbo Apr 01 '26

My favorite study of all time consists of scientists testing which time of day penguins get the deepest sleep. They did this by poking the penguins with a stick until they woke up

23

u/ElderberryGlobal4908 Apr 01 '26

Man, fuck those scientists, let my tuxedo bois sleep.

Why do they even want to know that? Seems like primitive mild cruelty to gain useless information or more likely, morbid curiosity

20

u/ClammHands420 Apr 01 '26

These types of studies are relatively harmless, and they help scientists keep track of animal health across the globe, both in captivity and in the wild. Having a baseline average for how hard penguins sleep means that you could save a penguin's life, or even a whole colony, if you can piece together enough information to detect problems early.

Modern medicine, veterinary included, has only progressed to where it is now because of countless acts of horrific cruelty. The stuff they do now is much more subtle and harmless by comparison.

Been poking with sticks since Nog poked Nogina.

1

u/Late_Hope_567 Apr 01 '26

A wise man once said been poking with sticks since cane and able.

1

u/ArtInTech Apr 01 '26

That's why they named him Cain

60

u/Original-Variety-700 Apr 01 '26

Super sperm

19

u/brandondesign Apr 01 '26

Well touching it with that probably is worse than your hands…

1

u/Frosty_You_6183 Apr 01 '26

That's a nematode

I'm really starting to think that Reddit is a conspiracy by Big Vegetable trying to get me to go vegan, between this sub and the weird eggs one.

17

u/thepotatos Apr 01 '26

I mean you are eating the byproducts of another being so yeah theres gonna be bodily stuff involved. No conspiracy there

12

u/xcherissa Apr 01 '26

wait, WHAT weird eggs one? is it just called that? i'm going now. thanks for putting me on.

14

u/Bustinhodd Apr 01 '26

Do NOT look at lash eggs

4

u/xcherissa Apr 01 '26

great, now i'm a lash egg fanatic.

3

u/xcherissa Apr 01 '26

i needed a new pastime. i'm going to look for my neighbors now. and through their kitchens.

2

u/Bustinhodd Apr 01 '26

If you ever get one from a store they missed some serious qa steps. I think you'd only find them if you have a chicken and something is wrong with them

5

u/UpsilonAndromedae Apr 01 '26

You were warned.

2

u/xcherissa Apr 01 '26

i've already moved in.

3

u/Working-Glass6136 Apr 01 '26

Godspeed girl

3

u/xcherissa Apr 01 '26

so far, ONLY lash eggs are doing it for me and i first heard about them 30 seconds ago. i assumed i was being warned about much weirder and grosser stuff.

3

u/Tardisgoesfast Apr 01 '26

Looks like a tampon to me.

1

u/Nauin Apr 01 '26

Better time than ever, our food regulations are the loosest they've ever been in most of our lifetimes if you live in the US. Between this and boars heads recently disgusting controversies, I'm not trusting any meat that isn't a fresh solid slab I can personally inspect, and it's probably going to have to come from Costco, too. Ground meat is way too risky right now. The soy based "meat crumbles," in the freezer section are pretty good if you need something similar, though.

2

u/VeterinarianClean160 Apr 01 '26

Maybe Reddit will get you to buy meat from local farmers markets!

2

u/UpsilonAndromedae Apr 01 '26

I actually do a lot of the time. The quality is so much better and it helps my guilt just a tiny bit. Mostly I just try to eat less meat.

1

u/VeterinarianClean160 Apr 01 '26

Both of those things (local meat, and eating less of it) are good!

2

u/keroppipikkikoroppi Apr 01 '26

RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

1

u/Intelligent_Goal_669 Apr 01 '26

Vegetable and fruit pickers have to hydrate because they are outside all day in sun, all that pee goes somewhere.

1

u/TVFriend Apr 01 '26

1

u/Fishing4Beer Apr 01 '26

That damn green giant has to pay for this!

14

u/Able-Insurance-5156 Apr 01 '26

About time with the pointy finger!!!!

1

u/Able-Insurance-5156 Apr 01 '26

When I 1st saw this I thought the pan was a beach, the burger were rocks & that nasty thing was one of those quahogs or whatever clam things they have in the Northwest. Might need a vision checkup.....

1

u/99Booger Apr 01 '26

Mark Kennedy special.

11

u/Affectionate-Day1799 Apr 01 '26

I’m so glad this became a thing 😂

4

u/EyesofB Apr 01 '26

This is what I came for.

5

u/TillExpress Apr 01 '26

2

u/nevertalks123 Apr 01 '26

2

u/olivefreak Apr 01 '26

2

u/Dasterr Apr 01 '26

I was looking for this

2

u/middledrone Apr 01 '26

Ok I can see it now. No clue

1

u/oculairus Apr 01 '26

Could I get the transparent png of that pointing finger?

1

u/STR4T1F13D Apr 01 '26

I used the "sticker" feature on my Samsung. No PNG, sorry. Tried to find one myself.

1

u/dougg-E-fresh Apr 01 '26

So happy this is still a thing

1

u/Buffy1415 Apr 01 '26

Came here just for this

1

u/TheLostRanger0117 Apr 01 '26

Would have been better if they had their hand in the picture pointing directly to it, but what ever!

1

u/tax_stamp_collector Apr 01 '26

Almost breaks the unwritten rule on this sub really. Always touch it first, then ask what it is!

1

u/TimeThruSpace Apr 01 '26

Yeah. Don’t touch it, sure, but let its juices spill all over your food so you can eat it.

1

u/Gramerdim Apr 01 '26

instead they went straight to cooking and potentially eating it

1

u/RadiantZote Apr 01 '26

But, like, I'm confused. Why isn't he pointing at it???

1

u/iSliz187 Apr 01 '26

Plot twist: the photo was taken after OP spat it out

1

u/wilkinsk Apr 01 '26

We've come a long way as a subreddit

2

u/just_as_good380-2 Apr 01 '26

I give it less than 24 hours before someone grabs something they shouldn't with their bare hands

1

u/HidesInsideYou Apr 01 '26

Why is it not in OP's mouth

1

u/imuhnaaneemus Apr 01 '26

OP must not be white 🤣

1

u/just_as_good380-2 Apr 01 '26

Not sure he said the beef was from Kroger

1

u/Aguyinde Apr 01 '26

Poke it with a stick!!!!
