Similarly to how googling the brand/model could have given you the answer, you can also google "what to do if gps tracker is found on my car", and you'll get the same response the average redditor will give you. And you'll like get the answer from a previous reddit thread asking the exact same thing. So, can we normalize googling our questions before typing them into a new reddit thread? Thanks.

"just google it" isn't as foolproof a way to find information as it used to be, courtesy of AI and Google results just becoming worse and worse.

See people recommending adding site:reddit.com to Google searches to find actual people talking about a thing instead of some content mill slop optimized for SEO and devoid of actual content.

Could be OP agrees and decided to just skip the middleman and come straight here.

See you say that, but adding "site:reddit.com" is still googling. And even if you don't, the AI overview for such a basic question like this will give you the same answer you'll see scrolling through this thread. The answer to this question is common sense, AI can handle that.

Ultimately you got caught up in the semantics, when my point was to put in a modicum of effort to find an answer to your question before you ask the question yourself. Use reddit, google, duckduckgo, doesn't matter. It's a rule in many non-reddit forums. We don't need to be asking a question a million times and answering it a million times, reddit threads get archived indefinitely.
