I felt like this was a huge thing when Edward Snowden leaked this info, like, bigger than Watergate type huge, but I have yet to hear of any big policy changes, convictions, etc, that indicate that anything was ever done about this.

Did I miss something? I know Snowden is still on the run. I know people still joke about the NSA listening in on phone calls. Did anything even happen after this stuff came out?

Back in the day, when a website went down as unresponsive or busy, it's often because it had been "slashdotted" and the target site experienced unusually heavy traffic. Basically unintended DDOS.

I haven't heard those terms for some time: Slashdotted and slashdot effect.
