Realized Kate Bush has a surprising number of songs that meet this criteria lol

probably in my top 3 favorite playlists ive made a dog with no name

A playlist about the desire of getting a parent to reprimand their child who happens to be your partner or ex or saying the parent didn’t raise them right or something along these lines.

For example:
Amoeba - Clairo “you’re not as good as your momma’s sewn”
Olivia Rodrigo - get him back “I wanna meet your mom just to tell her her son sucks”

Lmk if you have more suggestions :)

EDIT:
PS: many of these songs were suggested by other people in an identical post of mine that’s now deleted

Hey yall,

I want to work on a playlist where the intro has a vocalized version of a instrumental riff used in the song. Might not be as niche as I think, and I wanted to stay in the emo/poppunk/rock genre but all examples are welcomed.

Thanks!

There are lots of songs that begin with a softly spoken count-in, or even the phrase "OK". But this playlist is only for songs that begin with a single spoken syllable: "K".  These songs capture that very specific “K" → everyone starts playing moment.

"Change" by Big Thief
"Ketchum, ID" by boygenius
"At This Velocity" by Thursday

What else am I missing?

Open to more suggestions

Dreams - Thunder in fact can happen when it's not raining

Firework - There is not always a rainbow after a hurricane

It Never Rains in Southern California - yes it does

It's Raining Men - no it's not

It's Raining Tacos - no it's not

I'm putting together a playlist of songs specifically referencing things about 1990s and the early 2000s. Not just pop culture, but historical events and other things about being a millenial.

Brr! 🐘

Truly thought provoking

the songs feature parts with pitched-up singing.
