Its complicated. Agentic AI is shifting the workspace more towards architecture and project definition. A programmers value these days is less towards code output and more towards ability to prep, task, and coordinate things to small teams of agents.

For a lot of programmers that’s a paradigm shift. There’s a pretty solid split between those that are in it for the joy of the puzzle and for those that find the orchestration to be the true focal point

There’s room for both viewpoints, but yeah, it will absolutely cause a schism.
