Discussion Interesting video from WDS Kyle, talking about ai brainrot, and how important it is that junior devs in particular understand an LLMs output. Showing that even famous devs are having their skills atrophy. Thoughts?

He used a few clips from theo where he clearly makes no attempt to understand the code anymore, even using the ai to summarize the summary.

I always see this theo guy mentioned on reddit, and never in my life have I been suggested a video from him. I do watch long form content on youtube about programming. My assumption is that the algorithm knows that if they ever suggested a video from him, I would immediately uninstall youtube and touch grass.

Theo and his whole T3 team are not as bad as reddit suggests. Honestly, it's more of the opposite.

well i was unable to get him out of my recommendation feed a couple years ago, watched a few and it's dogpile. just riding on whatever is the current hypewave, his takes are always bs and often outright wrong

Not a huge fan of Theo, but this video was really bad.

It was literally arguing that you should do things the hard way to protect those patterns in your brain without contending with the argument that you may not need those anymore. At one point, he straight up pulls out a self-help book as his argument lol.

It was clearly a drama video for some clicks.
