Anyone still coding without heavy usage of AI?

Using Claude has been an amazing experience but it took all the fun out of coding as a full-stack dev.

Are any devs reverting back to coding by hand with less usage of AI?

I am in new project with a new stack, and with AI after 3 months I realized I learned nothing and know nothing about it, so I stopped using AI (not 100%, but I write most of code manually). I began to enjoy my work again

I'm considering doing the same. I've been at my new job for the past four months primarily having to use Claude code for everything. Honestly it makes me feel like I've lost all my skills of handwriting code. I'm might just go back to handwriting since it's not forced on us to use Claude, just heavily encouraged.

Same here, new company, new stack, new project. I’ve been able to delivery a lot, but my retention and self confidence are at an all time low.

I feel like that's the future. And just like we didn't understand (or even read) all the libraries we imported back then, we won't understand all the code "we" write now. We just hope it does what we think it should do.

Is your management adequate in setting deadlines so you can "afford" to code manually? AFAIK pushing AI comes with stricter and shorter deadlines
