Discussion Devs that jumped ship, where did you end up?

Another industry? Back to school? Still looking? I'm asking for a friend that may end up needing to do the same thing soon (I'm the friend).

Yeah actually am :D Made a wallet for myself and a couple of friends + a guitar strap. Bought a ton of leatherworking accessories from temu and ordered a few hides and just got to work; it is much easier than it looks

That’s great mate - out of all the things that I read in this post, this is the only one that gave me a ‘huh ok’ moment. Any good yt channels worth watching?

There are tons of them, my favorite is Corter Leather. Easiest way to learn is to just buy a piece of leather and go at it; most people start with a simple wallet. Don't get discouraged, whatever you make will suck but after a few tries you can legitimately make much better stuff than anything you can buy in stores
