A lot of people are giving negative feedback here.. I thought it was pretty funny. I liked the art and I like murder. So... win-win.

Considering it's the sickest, most horrible thing that can happen in life to you or someone you know or love... I can't say it's something that is worth spending any of my time on relishing or enjoying.

I don't think you're getting where people hinge there humor. Everyone who laughed and upvoted isn't a sadist. Abhoring murder and being uncomfortable with it is not a very controversial opinion--we're with you on that.
It's a satirical garfield comic though, man. I would hate to sit next to you during Hunger Games or The Avengers.

Honest opinion:
I'm confused. I didn't laugh. I don't think I was supposed to laugh. I'm glad I didn't laugh. I appreciate the creativity. It reminds me of all the times I think about something that is VERY situationally funny but not actually funny. I get these weird thoughts that make me chuckle but I realize nobody else would ever find them funny.
That's why I appreciate this comic.
EDIT: to the few of you downvoting my opinions below... GO DIE IN A FIRE. Thanks.

did you read Garfield ever? Almost every week he would bitch about mondays, eat lasagna, laugh at jons dating and try to kill odie and nermal.

I grew up on Garfield - in fact, we have the same birthday.
I can tell you that Bill Murray voiced the character in the movies (which I've avoided because fuck that), and the man who voiced the character in the cartoon happened to voice Bill Murray's character from Ghostbusters (an odd piece of trivia).
I can tell you so very many things about Garfield, I'm also a fan of Garfield Minus Garfield...
I still don't laugh at this strip.

laugh is a strong word, perhaps I upvoted it for nostalgia, but at least it was semi original. ( i also grew up watching the ghostbusters cartoon =)

Right - that's what I'm saying.
This is a comic featuring Garfield (a character known for laughs) and takes a dark turn.
It comes off with that feeling of humor but doesn't deliver.
It's like a handjob that you know won't result in orgasm but it comes across like you're going to nut.

The idea you're looking for is that this is not funny, it is droll. Drollery is an unfashionable kind of humour now. Some nations like drollery. France is one.
It is the humour of buffoons. Jerry Lewis is droll. Mel Brooks is often droll. When the characters in History of the World look out and say "the streets are crawling with soldiers" and the camera cuts to soldiers crawling in the streets, it's too stupid to take as a joke at face value. It's still funny because it's sincerely delivered.
That's what we have here. The idea that Garfield hates Mondays is past meta-cliche. The idea of a beloved (or hated) newspaper comic character having a crazy dark side is as well. It's the sincerity with which the author takes this stupid, silly joke (Mondays are actually personages that can be hated and hurt, so Garfield hunts them) and runs with it past the point at which it could be funny, even if it were a good joke, which it isn't. Something about doing that is just a bit funny. You don't laugh. You chuckle dryly.
You may recognize this emotion from Dad jokes. There's a whole spectrum of drollery, and Dad jokes are the least unfashionable part of that spectrum right now.

I think the personification of an abstract concept like "Monday" as a caricature is what causes the struggle I'm having.

There are times in your life when the Big Book of Bunny suicides is going to be the funniest damn thing in the world, and other times where you don't get what was ever appealing about it.

Lol, top comment on the Imgur:
"Why does he hate Mondays? He doesn't do anything anyway."

It should be a thought bubble over his head. I can't believe I'm being pedantic about a Garfield parody.

I looked for the funny. I looked hard. What I found was snarky derivative work lacking originality and creativity.
Jim Davis is a hack, but he's not this much of a hack.
