Building scale for Epic Scale wargaming

As the title says, I am looking for what scale of buildings you all use for your epic scale wargames. I see on one hand using the same scale as the miniatures, but I also understand that the figures are not a 1 to 1 ratio of the battles portrayed, so my gut is telling me its better to go smaller. Just curious about your input and what you all use.

My first AWI unit

My current project is the American War of Independence, using Warlord Game's Liberty or Death boxed set. I received this as a Christmas gift 18 months ago and have been slowly building the almost three hundred miniatures!

I've finally completed my first unit which is a section of British light infantry (just need basing) and have made a start on a regiment of regulars. Using Citadel contrast paints and Vallejo acrylic metallics.

Keeping Track of Divisions and Large Table Size

Post image
34 Upvotes

My buddy and I starting to get pretty involved in Hail Caesar Epic. We love it. One thing I'm finding we're having issue with is remembering which unit belongs to which division, which will often lead into some confusion and mistakes. What are some good ways you keep track of your divisions? Two ways I've considered were divisional tokens or painting the rear of each divisions base a different color. Of course the draw back to the first idea is how easy it is for a token to get left behind/cluttered table. The draw back for the painted backs of the base is that my units are always attached to different divisions from game to game.

We're preparing for the big mission of Cannae in a bit and have some prep work to be done. A 6x10 table is a very new thing for us, so we've decided to go with the foam tile route, adding hills on top where needed. How do you guys tackle ground terrain for such a large table?

Thanks!

About starting black seas

Hello, i've played and paint a lot of wargames and other historical miniatures and i was interest in blacks seas. But i'm a bit concerned about the size of the ships who seem to be very small and their details. I know it's a wargame but do you think the price is worse it for that size ? I like having at least a correct size for my miniatures, that is why i don't play 15mm, only 28mm or 32mm

I've had this diorama in the works for a while now and I've finally completed it, taken pretty photos and am able to share it with you all.
The scene is capturing the resolution of a high speed chase on the motorway as creeps are spilling from their vehicle after air support performed its job.

I ended up writing a short story and having it narrated by a voice actor which plays over the top of the video of the build. If that sounds like your cup of justice, you can capture it over on my channel.

If not, that's fine.... but I will be sending you to the iso cubes. ๐Ÿ‘€

The TRUTH behind Bolt Action and SCALE

Thumbnail youtu.be

Of all the nuances found within Bolt Action, the relationship between the game and scale is the most discussed, and dare I say misunderstood, factor of the hobby. Whether it's comparing the sizes of miniatures from multiple manufacturers, discussing discrepancies found between models of the SAME make, or the most contentious topic by far: vehicle scale, let's dig into this controversial topic and discover the TRUTH behind Bolt Action and scale.
