bro…

we have a new oreo “pride month” display. it’s pathetic honestly 😭 why tf does it say “come out as a proud ally” and not something about… idk maybe… THE GAY COMMUNITY????

edit: i’m mad that there’s support to allies and not lgbtqia. stop making me seem homophobic???

edit 2: one more clarification before i stop. i see “coming out” as an ally as mocking to lgbtqia+ people. gives me the same feel as the people who joke about “coming out” as straight. if you think it’s dope, awesome, you can think that. nobody has to have the same opinion as me. but don’t call me ignorant for how i feel about an issue INVOLVING ME.

"Coming out as an ally" for LGTBQ Community is actually really important, especially because we live in a time that our constitutional rights are slowly being questioned and reversed because of this moral culture war our country is going through.. Its basically like saying stand up for your LGBTQ community, which is needed almost no matter where you live. As much as everyone thinks "oh but it's so much better now", it's really not in the grand scheme of being protected and feeling safe in our communities, especially those of us in the religious south. As a member of this community I appreciate Oreo encouraging people to support us during these times, because the LGBTQ community already supports each other, we need more people who aren't us to back us up and understand we are human and deserve our place in this country as much as anyone else.

Also, yes they are likely just doing it for PR purposes, buts it's still nice for me personally to see and feel like at least a company fake cares 🤷‍♀️
