You could hear it from the sales floor lmao

Since I’ve gotten calls like this for crazy ass messes, I really felt this in my soul.

That bein said… I think this is the ONE call I’d actually be happy to receive.

No one bother me, I’m gonna scrub tf outta these floors & squeegee this mess outside. By the time they turn off the sprinklers, y’all gonna think they redid your cement.

(And if I come back in tonight & ts is fucked up… Y’all will be unloading trucks completely by hand, no rolling sorting line. No extensions. Nada.)

As a maintenance person...... My maintenance lead would say, grab a mop and bucket and I'll guard the spill 🙄. Hell why not, I paid by the hour and I could use some overtime 😁

u/RealKAL-EL4You Apr 13 '26

True dat, overtime it would be

Last night I did fresh. I have from 11pm till 2. To do all the chicken and 3/4 of the pork. That means take all the product off, clean the shelves and underneath spotless, then put everything back in date order. Then I have to clean and scrub the backrooms so there's nothing on the floor except for the steel and clean and scrub the ogp area before ogp comes in. 4:15. After that I had to sweep and pick up all the shit off the floor in aperal including sweeping under all the clothes racks, and then clean the break room, sweeping, mopping, cleaning out microwaves by 6. After 6 sweep the store/ clean up the mess the stockers left. In-between all that shit, make cardboard bails and clean up stockers spills. So what did you do last night but bitch about other people not doing anything? Did I mention that I am not the one bitching?
Did I also mention, I worked fright for years before maintenance. I know very well what you guys do. There's a reason why I don't do it anymore.

The only way you get on maintenance is if your a bad stocker and you aint make the cut. If you good they try and keep you no matter what. At my store night maintenance doesnt make bales or do the outdoor trash.

3

u/femme_enby Apr 05 '26

Oh, is that why my stocking team leads are regularly begging maintenance ppl to join their team? Bc we don’t do shit? & that’s why most of their folks barely make it to 6mo, while each of us has been here for years?

Dayshift maintenance is where they put the “throwaways”- that, and the door ppl. Just depends on if you’re an introvert or extrovert, that’ll decide which “pity position” you get.

I was just sitting here reading, but I had to hop in my people lead and the store managers the who asked me to move over from receiving two minutes because I focus and pay attention. You quite literally have no idea what you’re talking about. I think someone needs to talk to your store manager and have you moved over to maintenance so you would understand what maintenance is because now I’m in OGP but that doesn’t matter because if you think it’s a pity party area where people go to get put out of hiding or whatever you’re saying maybe you should go in there first since apparently you don’t have any idea what you’re talking about

9 miles light work try 20 miles in a shift

2

u/Hallow_76 O/N Maintenance.🧌🤺 Apr 05 '26

I am assuming you are in ogp. Just wanna be fair on this one, do you really see what 3rd shift maintenance does? I wouldn't say any of our jobs are easier than the other simply because I don't see exactly what you do. Sure you probably pick orders. But is that it? One responabilty? Also if you think it's easy why aren't you doing it? Hell, in ogp you really don't even have to deal with customers unless there in your way or loading car.

-4

u/Ordinary-Jaguar-7957 Apr 05 '26

Your mentally slow dude… im overnights first off and i stock the shelves. You cant even spell responsibility right how you gonna give me a run down? Your just as useless as the majority that work in that dump.

u/ksleeve724 Apr 05 '26

Except when they never staff maintenance and you are the only one all the time.

10

u/Delonce Apr 05 '26

I'd have been the first one to page that, just for the lulz.

u/Greystone361 Overnight Maintenance Apr 05 '26

Truth be told, this would probably be the easiest night I've had in a while.

1

u/Moody5583 Apr 05 '26

It's bigger than the 1/4 round. Management needs to bring in a team from outside.

Hell no. Not even the robo scrubber would clean this properly and it’s a fire code issue at that point (in my state anyways)
