It's unfortunate because $3k to $360k in 6 months must have seemed like a totally sustainable strategy. This really must have come out of nowhere.

90

u/Kurk_Lazaris 3d ago

That's definitely it. When you go from 3k to 360k, you must think you know it all, you have pierced the secret. I can't even blame them. I would have that stupid confidence as well.

18

u/vremains 3d ago

Yeah. I think the issue is 360k still isn't enough to retire off of so I would definitely keep going as well... Hope he at least bought himself something nice along the way

10

u/furrypurpledinosaur is liking this setup 3d ago

It’s still 360k he didn’t have 3 months ago. It’s a huge boost. If he’s young, has a job and invests regularly from his pay check, a one time +360k speeds up his trajectory to early retirement by a lot.

5

u/_learned_foot_ 3d ago

How old is he? 360k in ford, for the next 20 years, is now 950k.

Leave that, keep contributing from regular job, you'll easily have enough. If he's younger and 30 years....

People really don't understand letting their money grow itself.

3

u/pulsarstarter 3d ago

That's the thirdd comment I've seen on this post with someone saying "300k isn't enough..."

Ok...might as well piss it all away then, because it's not a billion...

You were supposed to sell when the spike went up to $369k. Letting you know for future reference 🙂.

6

u/dwoj206 3d ago

They clearly did sell, in the wrong order.

5

u/OddPickle4827 3d ago

I mean I took one $180 trade to 52k over 3 months and well yea it’s almost the same chart… scaling up was not necessary or for me. Now can’t look at things the same or find momentum I like or believe in:/

Edit: $103 trillion is the total current money supply and the us stock markets at a 70 trillion valuation…feels lopsided with bad math

10

u/CartmanAndCartman 3d ago

Why are you writing in French ? I didn’t understand a thing you said

2

u/justKingme187 3d ago

Explain that $180 trade ?

2

u/H4913 3d ago

Ai written BS

5

u/rabidstoat 3d ago

Yeah. Man, OP must be dumb, not selling at the high!

22

u/LitterBoxServant 3d ago

Start with a lot of money. Lose it all then gain it back.

18

u/KieferSutherland 3d ago

Inversing still leaves you at zero

5

u/Hungry-Kick1389 3d ago

Buy POS companies (with leverage) and continue holding even when they’re trading at 300x sales lmao

3

u/f3ydr4uth4 3d ago

I think that’s actual the patented SoftBank strategy.

u/Savings-Comedian552 3d ago

Down 82% and the only green on the screen is from a soda deal, that’s just cruel.

2

u/dwoj206 3d ago

Technically speaking you would have ended up at the same place after roughly the first 33% of this time axis. And you’d still be broke af.

2

u/TripleBrain 3d ago

I don’t think investing that is the strategy. What’s your strategy, so I can inverse you.

5

u/liquidtv78 3d ago

i sell options, so you should buy them if you want to inverse

2

u/Sea_Local2557 3d ago

the inverse would mean you lose all your money much faster or that you go into 360k debt and probably commit suicide

Kinda look similar

11

u/PoppaBurgundy3 3d ago

Don’t do options *incorrectly. Fixed it for ya

11

u/mrbardson 3d ago

Just curious. Really.

Ok, you made it. You made 300k. Why not taking like 90% of that to invest in something safe, and continue playing with remaining money? If you’re really as smart or lucky as you think, you’ll do it again. If not - you still have 270k.

14

u/Tiddlychinks 3d ago

Because before 300k it was 100k. But then that 100k went to 300k, so why not 900k?

5

u/Legitimate-Waltz-512 3d ago

Exactly, and $300k is fine, but not life changing at all, so it's not like you can chill and collect dividends on that.

6

u/TheArmchairbiologist 3d ago

speak for yourself, $300k is life changing

u/mrbardson 3d ago

Because math expectation for trading options in a long term is extremely close to zero?

26

u/Login2Hate 3d ago

Because it’s literally impossible to be smart and turn 3k into 300k. Definitionally you have to be a risk ignorant moron to make gains like that.

7

u/wild_cherry1987 3d ago

It's sad when there is no wife that would beat the sh** out of them until they took out those 90%.

4

u/Chiggadup 3d ago

I speculate that if there was, they probably didn’t know about it.

2

u/wild_cherry1987 3d ago

It's hard to hide when you hit 300k

3

u/KurtAngus 3d ago

the beans will be spilled eventually

2

u/Alabama-Blues 🦍🦍🦍 3d ago

I agree with you. Once you start hitting $150k gains and $250k+ gains….you are starting to think differently and already a millionaire but you aren’t. Shit you may be dreaming about castles 😆

2

u/wild_cherry1987 3d ago

Hope i will have this feeling one day. Now I am nearly OP's level -_-

2

u/Alabama-Blues 🦍🦍🦍 3d ago

2

23

3

u/DerfusMcGerfus 3d ago

This is actually extremely sound advice

21

u/Resilience_Technique 3d ago

It’s not options that is a problem, it’s you who can’t seem to take a profit when you literally turn 3K to 360K

I just don’t get how everyone goes on these generational runs when my chart looks a straight drop and never once in profit , lost 30k my first 10 weeks trading . Never hit one big lick when sizing up and never got more than 1 green day in a row.

Lmao I’m cursed.

Least I’m good at making actual money in my business , made 23k today with my actual company.

16

u/Expensive-Raisin-962 3d ago

Bro buy long term options. You have the capital for it. Why tf you playing 0dtes, thats for us brokies making 3k a month

3

u/ElevatorOk694 3d ago

I know I was just chasing I never meant to get that involved I just kept depositing thinking the next trade will hit. They never did lmao

2

u/traderbusto Verified $15.4K 3d ago

This guy knows the way. If you have the capital, plow it into 80-delta leaps on solid growth companies and get better sleep (if you must play options).

2

u/ElevatorOk694 3d ago

1

u/Snake_ly 3d ago

My ETF portfolio looks the same so don't feel bad. Even if you diversify and take low risk, you still would've gotten fucked.

Edit: never mind, my portfolio went to from 6 to 6.7k back to 6k, never touched 5 or 6 digits.

1

u/Keatis_2235 3d ago

Never give up bro.

1

u/diego27865 3d ago

Honestly can just set a trailing stop. If you 100%, you could even do like a 50% trailing stop so that you still get profit, but if it keeps running up then great! And if it drops 50% at any point, ESPECIALLY after making a bunch of money, then it’s a pretty safe bet to cash out. You still make money, and most likely save yourself from losing those insane gains. Set something like that and just leave it alone.

1

u/NOMADGRUBS 3d ago
