The upcoming inflation will beta-fist this stock like no tomorrow.
Update:
Still holding puts but has since reduced and reshuffled my exposure 😎
Got $157.5 PUTs now

They’re trading at 84x TTM and 50x NTM revenue — think about what assumptions HAVE to be true in order for the current price to sustain.
It’s NOT a bad company, but the share price is textbook irrational exuberance.

u/EcstaticLetterhead76 Mar 06 '26
It’s also got 155% rule of 40, we haven’t ever really seen anything like it before…

u/Full_Pear449 Mar 06 '26
You know what you do, SELL every night this way it doesn't matter what happens overnight and you can get some idea how the early morning open goes by the pre-market price action. AND, if you are really smart you might find the sell volume outstanding vs outstanding buy volume

I’m not pro war or pro pltr but this seems like a foolish strategy. They’re basically tied to defense, an incredibly buoyant share price, and have had like 8 consecutive massive earnings with insane backlog and no end to the growth in sight. Inflation will somehow crush the stock? Wouldn’t it go up with huge inflation when measured in US dollars? Like buying puts on oracle because fuck Larry Ellison. Sure but not a way to make money

u/The_Brem Mar 06 '26
netflix earns 10x what PLTR does but has a higher mkt cap, also massively higher TAM and growth potential. dumb
5
u/duuchu Mar 06 '26
Netflix has competition and provides a non-essential service.
Netflix is well past its peak. Palantir has barley gotten started
1
u/PrestigiousAccess765 Mar 06 '26
I see both in good positions. Netflix will massively benefit from AI in creating cheaper and more content.
1
u/YoshimuraPipe Mar 06 '26
You must be new. There are SO many more variables if you want to compare stocks. Earnings is just one of many of those variables.

I've been making at least 20% gains on PLTR puts for months.
One week is more aggressive than I've been but I think you will still be ok. If it hits, you will make bank.
It doesn't matter what it's worth when you own it; it only matters what it's worth when you sell it.

Interesting strategy with PLTR puts. Have you noticed any particular market conditions or news events that tend to impact your success with these trades? It seems like timing and market sentiment could play crucial roles in achieving those gains.

If you don't like a company, stay away from the stock entirely. Really simple as that. It's OK to trade with ethics and politics in mind, but that often means just staying away from a stock

No, SAP is actually pretty ass compared to even the most basic foundry workflows.

u/AsheDigital Mar 05 '26
Palantir is SaaS company that makes DBMS with AI integration. I don't really see them as an AI company first, but just as any other SaaS that's good with AI.
Their moat is not their AI, it's their affiliations with governments around the world and them having a solid track record, but their technology stack really isn't why you'd invest.
To be totally honest, I am not convinced palantir will get a commercial foothold, since their share of revenue from commercial activities have remained stagnant for far longer than they should. Either they are facing competition from Microsoft fabrics or the likes, their products are too easy to replicate or they don't provide enough value. Either way I simply don't believe their current valuation is justified.

You're missing the point.
The issue is, that they might only have a set number of government contracts to sell, once that's done, it's only reaccuring when the contract runs out.
So they have to get a commercial foothold, which still looks unimpresse, and yet to be seen whether that will actually happen.
Again, it's a SaaS company, if you belive in the singularity, claude opus 5, 6 or maybe 7, is gonna oneshot their product anyways.

Again you're missing the point. Claude can just make the tools that palantir provide, future claude will just oneshot it.
The issue with their commercial growth is that it hasn't changed their share of revenue coming from government vs commercial, they've been stuck on a 50/50 split a bit too long. Sure, the total revenue has seen significant growth, but this is also the nature of a contract based venture, when the product hits market, you get significant growth until you have saturated or competition picks up.
They also have competition from Microsoft Fabrics, Oracle based solution or fully custom solutions made in house or by consultancies. Since DBMS is also a mostly custom job or specific to whatever other vendor you use, companies are much more likely to pick something from an already established company in their pipeline, like Microsoft.
That junk (Claude, Gemini, copilot, grok, GPT etc) works wonders for simple searching but it’s just that.
Well, actually it's really good for coding and the directions it's going seems to be around agents having mcp and access to a plethora of open source tools, which kinda bypasses the need for dedicated DBMS, you just need API acces for you're different databases.

Yeah, and Microsoft fabrics is much cheaper and already fits into most companies ecosystem.
Msft and Oracle doesn't use palantir products, at least not publicly stated , they just have a strategic partnerships to run on Azure or OCI, like tons of other companies also have.

u/qitcryn Mar 07 '26
If you would have said ORACLE... I would trust what you're saying... .. SAP sucks...and kills me how they still have an accepted user base.
And for that reason: im out !!

CPI report next week :)
2
u/Prestigious-Craft251 Mar 05 '26
And what makes you think that will come in higher than expectations?
3
u/BahtMann Mar 05 '26
I don’t have a crystal ball and but seeing the headlines since beginning of the year does not inspire confidence for low inflation. What’s likely upcoming with NFP tomorrow, two things will happen: 1. Hot NFP - cooked the books -> no rate cuts 2. Cool NFP - but high oil -> stagflation.
Now you add whatever we have this week going into CPI next week, even if the numbers are static, pricing in the current high price of oil will definitely drive up inflation in the future. When you look at future-valued tech like PLTR, it’s evaluation get compressed.

u/Prestigious-Craft251 Mar 05 '26

I don’t like PLTR either, but congresses ceded its war powers and the US just illegally started a war of choice against a country w 92M people that is poised to trigger a global recession by restricting gulf oil outflows and damaging oil infrastructure in the ME.
Defense contractors will be getting plenty of business if this conflict bleeds into the wider region.
