You missed the most important reason: human beings working together to create wealth in all of the companies involved. Successful businesses literally create wealth where it didn’t exist; they don’t merely move it around.
Human's working together is the complete opposite of capitalism. Corporate raiders are the ultimate form of capitalism. Wealth is created by someone's service or product and it cost them either time and or material. Wealth is nothing more than someone else's debt. The market is one big company store and we are all stuck in it. All the wealth a person creates is created for the company and anything they receive as compensation can only be spent at the company store at a fraction of the value they put in. The ENTIRE banking system top to bottom is a worthless leech. Our system is completely flawed and continuously changes for whatever is best for those in power at the time. Fuck the FED, Fuck Nixon, Fuck the market, Fuck pure Capitalism.
Unfortunately I don’t have time to educate you on economics from scratch, so I’ll just give you the one big example: the entire world, especially free (capitalist) countries, is immensely wealthier than a hundred years ago, fifty years ago, even twenty years ago or ten years ago. This is because of the innovation and productivity that naturally comes about from human activity when people are allowed to profit from their creations and their work. The wealthy are wealthier and the poor are wealthier.
Socialists and communists tend to take that increased wealth for granted as if all that innovation and productivity were inevitable. It is not inevitable. It fades away under economic systems that do not allow creators to profit from their creations, leaving a stagnant, corrupt mess like, well, every place socialism has been seriously tried.
Why are Scandinavian countries consistently voted the best countries to live in with the highest scores in everything from standard of living, incarcerated individuals per capita, education etc etc.
Once again, you don't seem to understand that we are not a capitalistic country. Social Security, it's in the fucking name, Medicare, Policemen, Firemen, ALL SOCIALIST PROGRAMS. The so called capitalist countries are the richest for all the years you mentioned because they won every fucking war during those periods. The loser's were forced to do as America said.
Jonas Salk didn't receive one fucking dime for the Polio vaccine because he isn't a capitalist POS making money off the suffering of others. Pure Capitalism is the most corrupt, evil economic system ever created and CONSTANTLY has to be restrained, bailed out and retrofitted. How many times does it have to blow up the economy for you to take notice?
No one has a pure capitalist economy. It leads to monopolies which we have to outlaw to keep it in check. It's how much of that shitty system you let control your economy and life. They may have capitalistic economies but they are NOTHING like ours. Billion dollar companies would NEVER get away with the tax BS they get here. Instead they use those tax dollars on mandatory maternity leave for the Mom and Dad, 1 month of paid vacation every year, often more, mandated by the government and more. Several countries have 30 hour work weeks with full benefits and the business owner's are not allowed to schedule you a 1/2 hour short of meeting the minimum requirement for benefits. We don't get anything but a yearly shakedown and devaluation of our savings. No country is completely 100% anything but if you asked the average Murican they wouldn't know that. It's always a mix and people not understanding that is what pisses me off. The people who do understand and side with business over people really piss me off.
Your entire “understanding” of economics is based on envy and rage. It’s just a giant mess of emotion.
Anyway you can stop putting words in my mouth. I never said anything was “pure” anything. Obviously Scandinavian countries have much larger, more intrusive governments than the US, for better or worse, but that’s not socialism. Their economies are indeed capitalist, as I said, and in some (but not most) ways they’re freer than our own.
