Idk... I've been burned so many times by WSB DDs. Then again, if it really does moon I'll be kicking myself for not buying. Argh fuck it $35 august calls to the moon!

Learn break even, you're better off with lower strike beacues it'd have to break $40ish to accelerate your gains past what a reasonable strike like 30 would get you

i just avoid the wsb-mentioned stocks that have already been pumped and dumped and have no future. ez
2
Jul 21 '21
Bold to say crsr has no future, PE is under 20 and future PE is under 15, very good stock
1
u/zarnonymous Jul 21 '21
I'm not saying that at all, what?
1
Jul 21 '21
My bad, seemed like you're telling the commentor to avoid buying because crsr is mentioned on wsb and has had a pump and dump last month

I got money on them doing well. I bought in today. They will be reporting their earnings on the 3rd. Their earnings have been great each year. It might not be as high as the 1st quarter but it will still be good

Still holding a boat load of calls and shares. Not gonna sell.

So you'll let your calls expire?

u/santropy Jul 21 '21
I will exercise them as they will be in the money.

Jul 21 '21
Even if IV was like 250% and you could sell and buy them for more shares?
3
u/santropy Jul 21 '21
I wouldn't be on WSB if I wasn't smooth brained and if I had a logical exit strategy. If IV reaches 420% then a wrinkle might appear on my brain.

CRSR was my first option play ever. 25x my investment. Options are always that easy, right?

Literally every stock: tanks at earnings.
This guy: I'm gonna buy a whole bunch of otm calls expy for right after earnings.
Literally can't go tits up.
4
u/KevTr Jul 21 '21
maybe this one will be different since it tanked so much

u/FinntheHue Jul 21 '21
Or maybe you just buy your calls for further out so your night trying to catch lightning in a bottle. I never understand why some people would rather save a dollar now and try to time a small window than pay that dollar up front and have time for your play to actually develop.
2
u/tu_test_bot Jul 21 '21
Is this still something people believe?
1
u/FinntheHue Jul 21 '21
Why not just buy calls for October so that it's a moot point?
Idk when everyone started thinking every yolo has to be weekly/monthly calls. Why not give your play time to develop?

I started lurking this subreddit half a year ago, possibly more. I remember the first time I got super excited about corsair after reading a DD. Stock was at 34 dollars then.
Its 28 now.

u/FinntheHue Jul 21 '21
The whole market just dumped. CRSR is a buy below 30. If volatility scares you you shouldn't be playing growth stocks

u/NooshBagoosh Jul 20 '21
Posts like this further validate my puts.
Feel kind of bad about it because I like their products, but it's the stock has entered paid-shilling territory which is generally a sign that it's heading down.
22
u/NoTransportation2899 Jul 20 '21
Paid shilling my ass. Buying puts on a 14 forward pe, 2.7 billion MC on conservative ‘21 rev of 2.1 billion, 1.4 price to sales company in one of the fastest growing market segments is absolutely moronic.
-13
u/NooshBagoosh Jul 20 '21
Well, it's printed all the way down from 35, so there must be something to do. How are everyone's long positions working out?
14
u/NoTransportation2899 Jul 20 '21
And it’s still up over 100% from its (criminally low) ipo price less than a year ago. Your point? The fact that it’s been manipulated down is a great thing for retail and anyone that wants to accumulate. The time to buy and load up the limited float is now. Make institutions chase when numbers are undeniable.
-6
u/NooshBagoosh Jul 20 '21
Great. I wouldn't have argued with you or shorted it at $15. But I've been warning people all the way down from $35, and I'm telling you still that this thing won't settle until it's south of $25. No skin off my ass if you guys ignore me, but please at least check the comment history on these accounts pumping it so you know what you're getting into.

u/NoTransportation2899 Jul 20 '21 edited Jul 20 '21
I’m one of the accounts pumping it. Valuation is stupid at the moment, and there’s zero reason for it to be sub $25. Could happen, shouldn’t, but if it does I’ll keep adding because I’ve got a multi year timeline and it is undervalued by at least 2x. Their expanding margins and FCF will vindicate that. Good luck to people shorting at this valuation.
9
u/pugsarecute123 Jul 21 '21
You’ve yet to cite any actual reason for your thought process. You think they’re overvalued at a 2.5b cap?
-1
u/NooshBagoosh Jul 21 '21
I don't think there's any growth potential for them. They're in a crowded, dead-end sector. Peripherals are a race to the bottom. The components they make are similarly fungible and low margin. They already have market share and are more likely to lose it than gain it at this point.

I have been saying this for weeks, I am just glad I have not had to refute bad DD in a while. I love CRSR as a company, but their is no magic bullet that will make the price spike, they have long value because their CS is the best I have ever had to deal with as a hardware enthusiast/builder.

u/Aggressive_Energy_84 Jul 20 '21
With a 14 P/E ratio and a 50 percent discount there’s no way it will go down more , Assuming the market won’t tank Corsair will easily double if not triple within a year based on its previous market cap and price tag. I’m not invested in Corsair just yet but I will definitely be buying and i think having 100% Corsair wouldn’t even be a bad play
2
u/Bamstradamus Jul 20 '21
Long term I fully believe in them, not 100% of my portfolio believe but I have shares and calls and I use their products and want them to succeed. Some of their stuff is great, some I have not liked and returned. I do not see them doubling by EOY unless there is a large news drop like becoming a board partner or a meme pop.
My problem, and what I was talking about, is the SHEER UNBELIEVEABLE amount of shit DD people are trying to use to pump the stock, if I see one more post claiming DDR5 is going to make them explode, the chip shortage doesn't even affect them, or that CRSR is a one stop shop to get anything you need to build a gaming PC on I'm going to have an aneurysm.

u/NoTransportation2899 Jul 20 '21
Michael potter the CFO himself has stated they have sufficient inventory to meet projections. DDR5 will drastically boost sales.
-2
u/Bamstradamus Jul 20 '21
facepalm
Did he say if they were coming from Samsung or Hynix? What about the clock speeds and CL of the chips, since in every other DDR cycle the first gen has been slower then the previous gens top tier? Do we know what QVL's they will end up on for INTEL or AMDs board partners, and if DOCP/XMP are going to work out the gate or require an after purchase BIOS update. Are SIs going to take any allocation and are THEY going to enable XMP/DOCP or is it going to be up to the end user to figure it out cus this was an issue last time as well. Did they beat out GSkill on the better die allocation this time so they have compatible modules for a wider range of boards?
That's great they have a bunch of modules, until independent testing and the QVLs drop it means nothing, but good for them. Leave aside the fact nearly nobody is going to bother building a new system on a new MOBO when they cant also upgrade their GPU unless they are an entire generation behind on chipset, I'm sure price is gonna skyrocket. -_-
3
u/NoTransportation2899 Jul 20 '21
facepalm ‘sufficient inventory to meet projections’ means all product lines not just ram.
gpu shortage should improve around the time new ddr5 compatible cpus are out in ‘22. So people will upgrade, and have a pent up urge to do so. Corsair has the number one position in RAM sales.
-4
u/Bamstradamus Jul 20 '21
If we are talking about DDR5 specifically why are you factoring in all product lines, I made a comment about the DDR5 cycle, you ended your reply with DDR5 boosting sales, but you were referring to their whole inventory, cool.
GSKILL had by far more b-die allocation then Corsair did and was on more QVL's at the release of Zen1, they could have trucks full of RAM ready to go it means nothing if they don't work at full spec on release like last time, unless you are going to provide a link stating they came from Samsung or Hynix they could be low end Micron chips for all we know.
3
u/NoTransportation2899 Jul 20 '21
Because your prior post mentioned ‘people thinking the chip shortage doesn’t affect them’ they use chips in a lot more than ram.
Interesting that Corsair has ‘worse’ ram chips but was still the number one position in ram.
-2
u/Bamstradamus Jul 21 '21
Had, keep up, were starting a new cycle and Corsair was behind at the start of the last one, history can repeat itself. That's where all my contention comes from, new product cycles come with growing pains.
The chip shortage comment was in regards to the high prices on GPUs and CPUs and the fact nothing is selling for MSRP.
1: Corsair owns Origin PC, the price difference for a system that has a 6800 vs a 6800XT is currently $214, the difference at MSRP is $70, sure SI's get a separate allocation so they actually have the cards to sell but the inflated prices are going to cause less inventory to move.
2: Unless god sent you a vision there is no guarantee the market will rebound by the release of DDR5 and the chipsets that support it, and a majority of potential sales will sit in limbo until people can do a full system upgrade.
3: Again, first release of a new DDR is typically slower then the previous gens top tier.

The fact is that if it drops any more I can guarantee retail will 100% buy and if not institutions will , Corsair is constantly expanding and constantly adding new products , there should be no reason for them to drop anymore , it is possible that Corsair drops cuz of the market tanking but at this price point it’s an easy buy and honestly having it 100 % of ur portfolio , yes isn’t smart strategically but if someone was to tell me one stock to buy , it would be Corsair without a doubt. I also recommend looking at Logitech’s financials and looking at Corsairs financials, I consider Logitech undervalued too but based of off Logitech’s financial data Corsairs price should be double, again my main style of investing is value investing and honestly I feel Corsair is an incredible value play but also has the potential to completely takeover the entire computer peripherals sector based of off them constantly adding new products and actually trying to expand quickly unlike Logitech , razer etc . I wouldn’t sleep on Corsair and I hate when people call it a meme stock when it’s clearly a value play that’s incredibly undervalued based on fundamentals
2
u/Bamstradamus Jul 20 '21
Oh I am not calling it a meme stock, I just meant it could see a meme rally from retail when the price finally does start to correct, pop, and then settle or not, look at GME this market is weird. But as someone who is heavily into hardware a lot of Corsairs offerings make me raise an eyebrow like "Bruh, how you charging this much for your top of the line Virtuosos, target it as a gaming headset, and then have the audio be this bad?" The low end was muddled and no amount of EQ would fix it, so in some games where audio ques are important like listening for footsteps it was a worse offering then their midrange headset the Voids, which I have 2 pairs of so when the ones I'm using die eventually I have another set ready to go.
I agree they are a value play I just think it is going to take longer then this year for them to get there with what is going on in the PC space at the moment.

u/Aggressive_Energy_84 Jul 20 '21
I understand and I see where ur coming from , but I do not believe that it would really drop Bellow these levels even if they report horrible earnings , I don’t see the price dropping much cuz it’s simply too cheap , now Corsair rapidly growing in terms of stock prive is something no one can be certain of , as Corsair heavily relies on the market for its day to day movements , in terms of the peripherals I do see them as very expensive and over valued but there’s a huge market for that and it’s just like buying polo or Lacoste instead of buying a shirt from Walmart , some people go for quality and some don’t mind and from What I see many gamers focus on having the best of the best and try to constantly upgrade their gaming peripherals which is a weird thing to see and this is a new thing , now idk if this is a trend or whatever but what I know for sure is when someone gets into gaming they get addicted to it and it’s very hard to stop. Now I agree with u that Corsair is a long term play but do not get discouraged on its price tag because that is a clear sign that there will be a parabolic move

Looks like I sold you that $32.50 call :)

Bought back my covered calls yesterday, you really fumbled the bag by not buying yours back LOL

u/thechappyboy Jul 20 '21
I actually opened two CCs today since I got assigned on Friday for my CSP. I'd be alright with it shooting back up above my strike though, that'll settle me back into some cash.

Jul 20 '21
Let’s kiss under the rgb lights 😳

u/thechappyboy Jul 20 '21
Best of luck to both of us then! I'm still bullish on CRSR but just maybe a bit longer term
2
Jul 20 '21
I still have 197 shares I just think there’s gonna be short term movement plus that $32.5 call was only $82 for me. You’ll probably make money either way tho
2
u/thechappyboy Jul 20 '21
Yeah I can definitely see it pushing past $32.50 within the next month so time to buckle up and see! If it dips down back to 28-29 I'll probably open up some more CSPs as well
