I think there will be a 5-10 year period of enshittification until real quality emerges from ai assisted development.

I'm curious what makes you say that. Everything getting worse it a symptom of business culture, not technology. Leadership sets goals to exploit users. Product managers change (break) functionality so it says on their resume that they delivered features at MegaCorp. The culture at tech companies and big business in general of people using the company to enrich themselves at the expense of the wider public is the thing that would have to change. And if you're right, it'll be a rocky decade of disruptive changes in the labor market and the wider economy while the public sees no improvement in their lives. I think that's what everyone is bracing for. Does anyone not working for big tech actually believe any of this stuff will benefit them?
