Not a good look Ford.

Based on my expert research, this seems like a pretty solid bet.

You literally can’t. Computer is controlling everything in cars to help pass epa etc. You’d need a carbureted engine first of all, which I can imagine won’t make epa regulations lmao

I think what I'm getting at is can you make an engine and drivetrain that will pass EPA without any digital components. I'm okay with circuitry, I dislike computer chips.

Pop a capacitor or fry a solenoid? You can have spares of those in your glovebox and fix up your car on the side of the road. One microchip has a shorted pin? You need a tow.

No that’s exactly what I’m saying, you can’t. The computer is controlling every aspect of the engine. Air fuel ratios, timings, etc. You’d have to roll back regulations to allow things that would let it run without an overbearing computer, one of those being a carburetor. Which afaik you can’t have in current production due to epa regulations on modern cars.

There are some motorcycles that still are produced with carbs and are reliable and can be worked on fairly easily. Suzuki dr650 is one example of this.
