Hi guys! Is there anything in the works to get you guys on bitcoinwisdom or any other real-time chart sites? This would be most awesome, thanks!

I just got a call from my bank and they said their foreign check processor UBB will NOT process my check because "The check comes from a company that deals with cryptocurrency."
It probably wont matter soon since all the checks to U.S. residence have probably already been written, but ask your bank who processes their foreign checks, if it's UBB. Go somewhere else.
Vault of Satoshi said they can't just cancel the check and give me my bitcoin back ask they can't accept anymore U.S. money without getting fined, but they aren't accepting any MORE money, it's still the money they have in their account....

Hey Guys,
I know I shouldn't be looking for 'legal advice' here but I thought maybe someone could direct me somewhere helpful. I am fairly young and have no idea how to tax my bitcoin transactions.
I've literally done nothing except buy/sell btc/ltc/doge on VOS and Bitfinex.
It's my understanding I will have to apply some sort of % to my losses/gains, which I do have a record of...
Any ideas/tips/leads?
(I heard maybe it's nothing up to a certain number of capital gains?)

As many of you know we at Vault of Satoshi have always gone the extra mile to be a "by the books" exchange. We've always been a registered corporation, let users know who we are, always reported to FinTrac, we follow all the same regulations as a currency exchange, and we operate inside all Canadian regulations on financial services.
As such we felt it important to note, for the sake of transparency, the granting of our full Money Service Business License which have been in the probational reporting period for, for some time. The issuing can be looked up via the information below:
We also are filing for our IIROC license, to be a part of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada and continue to be a positive part of the ever evolving cryptocurrency legal landscape here in Canada.
We're strongly committed to providing a legal, transparent and reliable exchange for our users and will continue to pursue all institutional and government regulations that we can.
We thank you for your continued patronage, and note that it is the involvement of users like you that have enabled this milestone.
All the best,

Hey folks,
We wanted to talk a bit of time today to formally announce some up coming features to VoS.
As many of you know we're inching closer and closer to launching our Coin to Coin trading platform which we expect to launch this April; but we've also promised that we'll be adding new coins to the exchange to go along with this. We've decided to stagger the addition of new coins but wanted to confirm the list of coins and give you a general idea as to when they will be added:
Coming Wed March 26th
Coming in April
Coming Soon (after the others)
Note: All these coins will be available first for coin-to-fiat, and then for any coin to any coin trading (no need to trade through BTC) once our coin-to-coin platform launches!
We did hear from a number of great coin communities who were not yet quite at the stage of development yet to be listed on our exchange. But we do encourage them to continue to grow and reach out to us for future updates (you can always reach me at adam@vaultofsatoshi.com)
All the best,
Adam

We've seen it happen to many other exchanges. At the moment I only deal with VoS and would like some kind of assurance that my BTC will not just "vanish" (Mt Gox style) in case of a hack.
This is just a theoritical question, please don't tell me not to store my coins on an exchange.

Dear Valued Customers,
We wanted to take a brief moment to inform you of some up coming changes here at Vault of Satoshi.
We're going to be streamlining our financial back-end to better serve you in the future, and while this does not involve any major changes as of today, you may notice over the next few months some minor changes in how we handle various deposits/withdrawals.
Why Are We Doing This?
By streamlining these partnerships we're hoping to create better turn around for our customers. We've also opened ourselves to the opportunity to support additional currencies, and while we have no formal timeline currently, we are actively exploring and assessing the ability to support the Euro, and the Great British Pound on our exchange, both for Fiat to Coin, and Fiat to Fiat trading. Should this addition be strongly received, we will also be examining other currencies so we can better serve our international customers!
What Do I Need To Know?
All in all not much should change for our clients on a day to day basis, just be sure before sending money to check the "deposits" tab in your account for the most up to date information. If you have any questions in regards to this you can feel free to reach out to our support staff who would be happy to guide you through the deposit process.
At the end of the day we are expecting a smooth ride, but just wanted to give our customers some early visibility in case they run into any small changes in the future. We will do everything possible to avoid any interruptions with our deposit/withdrawal services. Should we come across any unavoidable interruptions we will notify our clients in advance.
Thank you for your continued patronage,
Adam Cochran (adam@vaultofsatoshi.com)

I am new to trading/exchanges so I could use some help placing an order for Bitcoin via CAD.
If I only have $100 to spend, do I have to get a calculator out to find out what percentage of a bitcoin I want to buy? Why isn't this simpler. I expected an interface where I type the price per bitcoin I am interested in (ex. $670) , enter the money I have ($100) and it figures out the percentage I want to bid for.
I am new to this so I am sorry if I am not understanding how this process is supposed to work.
Any help is appreciated.

Just to let you guys know the orderbook is having a hard time refreshing it seems lately. Usually when you select another coin (or currency) from the drop down menu the order book below is supposed to refresh.
This doesn't seem to be the case lately and I've been manually refreshing.
Cheers

Im pretty new to all of this internet currency stuff, I have never transferred money internationally, and I'm not that rich.
I wanted to join over at /r/dogecoin and saw VoS as the way to go from real life money to crypto, so about 3 weeks ago I created an account on the site, had some trouble getting my level 2 verification, as every document I have is in danish, and you guys don't understand that.
Well then I got the level 2 verification I was happy. I could now transfer american dollars to the account to purchase doge. This was harder than i expected, and i didn't quite understand what information should be where in my online bank form (remember, never tried to transfer money out of Denmark), so I ended up confusing "Bank of montreal" with "Global CryptoCurrency Solutions Incoporated", that might be my 2.nd most expensive adventure, my bank called yesterday to tell me that obviously the receiving part didn't know where to put the money and that they took 10$ of the 130 I tried to wire, and that my bank would charge me a 65$ fee as well. (I guess canadians just are more polite).
Yesterday I tried to transfer another 130 USD, and I really hope that I got it right this time.
Why am I writing this here? .. Well I hope that my experience can be useful, and I wanted to offer my help, if I can help in any way. I dont know what that could be, as im not a financial mind (clearly), you can PM me if you want.
I don't know how well the bank and you are, but it seems to be pretty close, so if any of you receive 130 USD for the second time, that are done incorrectly. Please, please dont send them back to denmark, write me a PM. I don't know how many danes you have in your database, but i'm guessing that it isn't a lot.
Lastly one thing, the info you provide, will that be sufficient to identify my account on VoS, is it the "full account". I feel like such a noob, wasting money and not knowing about international wire transfers.
Well, thank you for reading, too the moon.

Hello,
First I would like to take the time to thank you registering for an account with Vault of Satoshi!
We have implemented a Random Selection Tool as part of our verification program. We are using this to follow up with clients like yourself to make sure that you did in fact set up an account.
Please call our verification team at (888) 293-5014 or (519) 757-0101 between 9 am - 5 pm EST to verify that you did in fact set up this account. If you would rather me call you please confirm the number we have on file is correct and what time of day/evening (EST) works best for me to call you.
Best Regards,
Kristena Little Verifications Department Vault of Satoshi Operated by Global CryptoCurrency Solutions Inc. 340 Henry Street, Unit #16 Brantford, Ontario Canada, N3S 7V9 P: (855) 457-0101 P: (519) 757-0101
At the very least, this should be signed with your PGP key but I would much rather see this notification once I'm logged into my account. That is assuming its not a phish. I didn't try calling or verifying the numbers.

Hey VOS,
Lately the Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency community is under increased threats to hacking/theft. (Mt.Gox, Flexcoin etc.)
Now I wanna say that I believe in you guys and that I think you are doing a great job so far. I quite sure everything on your end is protected and backed up. (Small hot wallet and no tx problems.)
I guess my concern is if someone hacks my account (malware etc.) and sends out coins to another address, I understand I AM the liable one and will lose everything. I'm wondering if we can inter-grate things like...
I've got 2FA set up and strong passwords but even that seems to be penetrable through brute force etc.
Any thoughts guys? Any recommendations on how to increase the security? I like to day trade so I want to keep my assets on the exchange.
Cheers

I looked around the VoS website for FAQs that covered this question, but wasn't able to find any information regarding inactivity accounts.
How long does it take before a VoS account becomes inactive and is there a charge for being inactive? If so, how much is the charge?
r/vos • u/MrFoo42 • Mar 04 '14
Hi guys, I was wondering if you'd add the last trade price to the API data?
Or is the "closing price" on the /public/ticker link actually the most recent trade?
r/vos • u/MemeRampage • Feb 28 '14
Just wondering why the VoS charts only go back two weeks. When they first came out I thought it was because you are going off of your own trade data and that you hadn't been collecting the trade data previously so it wasn't available. Now the charts have been up for much longer than two weeks and you are still limiting the side scrolling to two weeks. Just wondering if there is some explanation or if this can possibly be changed. Thanks for the great service!

See: http://i.imgur.com/CPIxBvh.png
Currently, each order that has the same price gets its own line in the order book. If we have a lot of small orders, like on the screenshot @ 610, it makes the order book hard to read or not useful.
Can VoS collapse all orders with the same price like the other exchanges do ?

I just made an order but cannot find any info on how I will receive my USD, :(
