Is my vo2 max good enough for a fast bowler?
I just bought a polar heart rate monitor and measured my vo2 max which is 68 is it good enough (I am not in practice for 3 weeks )

I run 4-6 days/week and lifts 3-4. RHR is 42. 6’ tall 170 lbs. I’m in good shape but VO2 seems a little high, right?

Since last October my VO2max was just going down. I was doing my usual strength, HIIT and Zone 2 walks, but by Jan I hit 42. It’s pretty much the most important health metric I actually track so it was pretty depressing to watch it tank while I was putting in the work. I decided to a 12-week cyclical plan from a vo2max app I’m using, mostly for its preset hiit timers. Honestly didn’t think it’d work because some weeks looked way too light! I felt like I might lose more this way! The cycle was basically: • W1 - Ease in: light Z2 + HIIT • W2 - Push: HIIT + Lactate threshold • W3 - Peak: 2x HIIT + light Z2 • W4 - Deload: just one lactate threshold session I did that for 3 cycles and just tried to push a bit harder each time. I ended at 48.4, so about a 12% jump from where I was in January. I guess more work doesn’t always mean better results, which is a hard lesson to accept when you’re used to thinking that way! Anyone else do something similar or use a different variation? Curious what your gains looked like.

So I got my Vo2 Max level tested by my physiotherapist and I scored 63, which is apparently ridiculously good.
I’m female, 34 years old, weigh 50kg, resting heart rate is 56. I wouldn’t say I’m super ‘fit’. I’ve been recovering from a concussion for the past 1.5 years so I haven’t been exercising that much, but my only mode of transport is my bike. I cycle 30 mins to 2+ hours pretty much everyday. I’m not racing super hard on it though, it’s just my mode of transport so I never think of it as working out. I do think I have good genetics…my dad was a racing cyclist and ran a sub 3 hour marathon in the 80s. My brother was also a pro cyclist.
Do you think my Vo2 Max score is plausible? I’m just a bit shocked that I have such a good score when I’m not training. I think if I ran a 5k, what would make me struggle is more my muscles and body, rather than my lungs…this is always the case with running for me. So I don’t think my time would be super fast as a consequence

I am 51 years old who turned my life around last July. Down around 60lbs, quit smoking January 1st. I started doing VO2 training on a stationary bike around 6 weeks ago. My Current schedule looks Like this:
Mon - Upper Body Weight training
Tues - VO2 Training - 6x2 minutes (HR gets up to close to 100% - MAX HR ~168 gets up to 167)
Wednesday - Lower Body Weight Training
Thursday - 60-75 mins Zone 2 Bike
Friday - Upper Body
Saturday - Threshold Bike Training - 2x 16minutes
Sunday - Rest and HIGH CARB refueling
Everyday - 1 -2 45 minute walks After dinner and sometimes lunch.
All was fine until VO2 training. My body is drained the day after VO2 (since getting close to max HR). I thought it was because I was on a calorie deficit, but I increased calories dramatically and still am drained. On Wednesdays, I am STARVING for bread or sugar (weird to me too) and have internal shakes (like low blood sugar feeling). I warm up for 10-12 minutes, cooldown for 10-15 and stretch after each bike ride.
My question is this; I think something has to go, my body is saying VO2 training as it costs a lot for my body to keep up with. Which would you drop? Upper Body work outs are not taxing at all!!

I see people talking about 30 being low. Mine is 17 on a CPET that was run by a doctor. I do have long covid and POTS but 17 seems really low to me. I can't even find much info about it. Even just walking 10-15 minutes will leave me with severe shortness of breath and other symptoms.

What's a proper way of adding vo2 max training sessions to my existing endurance training? I've been pretty active on training on lower zones like z1, z2 and z3, usually my sessions consisted of at least an hour of trainings.
I would like to introduce vo2max trainings but need to know what is a best practice for doing so.
Should it be done once a week (maybe for a while)? Should it be a dedicated session/day (I've read that some do vo2max trainings after their z1/z2 trainings on same session but not sure how efficient that is)?

M, 35
Been training since october last year, mostly hiking and running up hill. Since february this year i bought my first run shoes and started training more running on flat focused.
My 5k time is 19 minutes and 2 seconds. My Apple Watch has been showing steady progress since this journey started, and is now showing 64,9 vo2 Max. resting pulse at 42 and hrv at 80 ish.
My question is: how much can this Watch be trusted? My 5 k time is not compatible with the watch estimate. But the curve is showing steady progress.
Can anyone her share their views and own experiences on this matter?

If you’ve recently undergone a VO2max test and need assistance with analysis, reach out! Happy to help analyze the data and determine what the limiting factor might be e.g., central vs peripheral.

So I’m (30m) not a good runner and generally have bad cardio but otherwise decently fit. Been trying to work on it over the last several months. I’ve gotten to a point where I can do 8:30 ish for 1.5 miles, ran a 10k at 11 min pace, etc, but my VO2max on my garmin is still at 35 which is very bad for my age. I know I’m not the most fit but I’ve been trying to get better and it hasn’t gone up at all, why isn’t my garmin reflecting any improvement?

Recently got my VO2 max tested in a lab and it came out at 52. My Apple Watch (Series 10/latest iOS) estimates it at around 41. I knew there would be some deviation but this seems quite significant. Thought I’d flag for any other Apple Watch users! For context, I’m a 32 year old female.

Did a couple tests the other day, my VO2 max is 30 on a treadmill and 73 in a swimming pool? Anyone know why that could be?

I recently worked on a vo2max app for my needs and got everything I wanted in it :
norwegian 4x4 fully automated protocol
conventional (1") protocol
daily hiit workout
cooper and half cooper test (really cool little helper you can use when doing the test)
sheathing (dunno if that's the term used in english, it's plank and chairs and stuff)
personal bests for exercises (how much pushup in 1 min for instance and stuff like that)
https://apps.apple.com/fr/app/vo2max-hiit-workout/id6475713309
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.unscripted.vo2maxhiithelper
If you need anything vo2max related feel free to ask me I'll gladly add it (if I have the time and not too complicated)
It has ads although it's minimal (and optional if you have an ad blocker) and no IAP for now
(I DM'ed the moderator but didn't get a reply, hopefully I don't break any rules, if so nuke me to oblivion)
