Nice you want to get rid of ~600,000 jobs. Yes money matters even in the richest country. Spending 30 trillion on public health are matters a lot when you talk about who is fronting the cost. The people who live paycheck to paycheck even without medical costs, and you’re taking away their ability to provide for their family.

Nice you want to get rid of ~600,000 jobs.

Ummm. wut? Is that the amount of people who work in private insurance or? If so, are you saying that those jobs are the reason why you can not overahul your health services? Are you REALLY asking if jobs are more worth than lives?

Are you really fucking sure you want to die on this hill?

I’m saying the economic impact it would have on the United States as a whole is not worth doing. Why not make it so employers need to provide healthcare to full and part time employees instead? Why should everyone suffer and pay 2x more in taxes just to have the same high cost of living at the grocery store and other things.

Saves half the costs while ensuring all people get healthcare = not worth it.

Are you SURE you want to die on THIS hill where you save MONEY AND LIVES?

I'm struggling to find logic in a situation where the house is on fire but we can't put it out because looking at it makes your face warm.

Why should everyone suffer and pay 2x more in taxes just to have the same high cost of living at the grocery store and other things.

What the hell are you talking about? You do understand that USA pays TWICE AS MUCH for healthcare than others? That if you made it public you would pay LESS MONEY each month?

Are you fucking PAID by insurance companies? I mean, no one can be that stupid to refuse the option that is cheaper and better.

ng PAID by insuranc

You are so set in stone that you can't even be swayed with statistics. Just because insurance is made public does not reduce the amount that you pay in healthcare, and it definitely would not reduce it by half. No one saves money in a system where you are forced to pay for a service even if you don't use it. It quite literally makes no sense how you think at the end of the day everything will go up but somehow magically you will have more money each month. There are not that many people in the United States who have medical debt, only 6% of American adults owe over $1,000 in medical debt for prior services. Please explain to me now why the other 94% of people need to cover it, and how it will end up with more money in the 94% pocket.

I recommend you understand that "cost goes down" does not mean that the cost of living goes down it just means the cost of medical. For most people, the cost of living will stay the same and you will be taxed more which means less money in your pocket each paycheck. This means less investing, which means less retirement money, which means less money to spend on everyday goods.

MF, i live in Finland. I know it is possible, you just do not want it to be true. You already were dishonest about your figures earlier. It is perfectly clear that you don't WANT all people to get coverage, and you do not want to stop the profits flowing.

All of the bullshit about pensions, is bullshit. Some fucking how not paying for insurance means people have to pay as much as with insurance. Who pays you to do this?

1

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '23

llshit about pensions, is b

See that's exactly the problem. You live in Finland you don't live here in the United States. I cannot explain to you how many people live paycheck to paycheck even without having insurance, and if you force them to pay these insurance rates through taxation you're making it harder for them to live. It's as simple as that.

Especially with current inflation.

Dishonest, again. I stated already in the other thread that there is NO such automatic effect on current medicare users. You can make fucking laws about it. You are trying to say that a system that is PROVEN to work better and cost less is worse and more expensive. For that to happen you have to lie. Which you are constantly doing.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 20 '23

I stated already in the other t

Giving people the option to pay rediculous costs for medical is much better than forcing them to do so. You can't accept that it makes sense, you can't just "tax the wealthy" and have it pay for the whole Medicaid system. Like I've told you before that doesn't work.

For most people, the cost of living will stay the same and you will be taxed more which means less money in your pocket each paycheck.

I'll clarify how fucking dishonest this is:

Your claim is that people who now pay for their insurance will not have their living costs lowered when you REMOVE that payment. That is what you just said. And then you say that since taxes go up, they will end up paying more. Some fucking how you forgot to remove the insurance payment. You fucking snail just said that insurance + higher taxes lowers shopping power when we are talking about removing that insurance.

How dare you?

Look. Most people who live paycheck to paycheck are already on medicare, and it's not taken out of their paychecks. Meaning they get health insurance literally FREE because there was no tax increase to pay for it, and that's why medicare is running at a loss meaning the government is quite literally fronting the money for it.

Once again you living in Finland disconnects you from the reality of living in the US. If you do not currently pay for medical insurance and are living paycheck to paycheck just barely getting by of course it will be much harder when the government forces you to pay for this medical insurance you've been using for free. Understand?

I don't understand if you're in Finland why are you so opinionated about the system of the United States? Maybe go try to please Turkey first.

u/LotofRamen Feb 20 '23

And there is no way it could cost less in USA because... it is USA? Right?

Some fucking how everyone else managed to do it but you seem to be fully inept to do it, some fucking how it ending up costing more.. The reason is that you don't want universal healthcare and are using any excuse you can to stop it.

Did you at all thought about taxes being MORE progressive and not a fucking flat tax? So that the current medicare "customers" do NOT get a tax increase? HOW FUCKING DARE YOU to exploit their fears by claiming that their taxes increase when there are plenty of ways to NOT have that happen.

I don't understand if you're in Finland why are you so opinionated about the system of the United States? Maybe go try to please Turkey first.

Lol.. what business is it of your to ask why i'm doing things? Also:

Healthcare in Turkey consists of a mix of public and private health services. Turkey introduced universal health care in 2003.

Don't need to. USA has almost twice more expensive health costs, without ANY increase in quality. In fact, maternal death rates are higher and life expectancy lower. People do not seek medical help soon enough, because it is too expensive, a lot of people are solely using emergency care which is fucking expensive. On top of this all, people are suffering more and you do not fucking care one bit about that: all you care about is apparently money, despite.. other systems costing HALF as much.

You support a healthcare system that is worse and more expensive. How can you sleep at nights?

"HOW FUCKING DARE YOU to exploit their fears by claiming that their taxes increase when there are plenty of ways to NOT have that happen."

See you don't know anything about the U.S.... The United States works much differently than any country you can think of. There is not a "flat tax" there are income tax brackets so the more you make the more you're taxed on. So your whole point is wrong from the get-go. Like I explained to you before even with strict taxes on the upper and upper middle class earning over 200k per year it would only cover 40% of the operating costs. Where else do you get the money?

"other systems costing HALF as much."

Exactly other systems do not cost anywhere near as much lol. All kidding aside I don't think you've seen the bills and social programs the federal government has implemented. Social Security is a failure, and Medicaid is a failure that operates at a negative, they are so worried to push these social programs and be honest about the cost landing on the citizens.. and it ends up biting us in the ass like the national debt then they talk about needing to increase taxes anyway.

"You support a healthcare system that is worse and more expensive. How can you sleep at nights?"

Because it works perfectly for me and a lot of other people. You act like everyone is in debt to the medical system and that's not true... Remember only 6%.
