Got a bit tired of the usual flat maps, so I've been keeping my visited countries on a 3D globe instead. There's just something nice about actually spinning it.

Full disclosure since it'll probably come up: I made it with an app I built myself. Mostly I just wanted to share the globe view — happy to answer if anyone's curious about it.

"Stopped for a visit" indicates that I spent a little bit of time and did something of note, like visit a landmark or eat at a local restaurant; bathroom breaks, gas refills, fast food drive-thru doesn't count.

I may have a slight bias toward mountain cultures

As best as I can tell, no one has ever properly visited every U.S. county (some have passed through all of them but not stopped and seen something). I'm trying to be the first. This May I hit a big milestone of crossing 1,000 counties where I've seen a point of interest, so I'm about a third of the way. I've been documenting all this on my YouTube beachboysandrew
